Really? Have you read Biographia Literaria? Advertisement to the Lyrical Ballads? Preface to the Lyrical ballads? The Use of Poetry and the Use of Criticism? The idea of a Christian Society? Notes Towards a definition of Culture? Selected essay? On poetry and poets? To criticize the critic
These are not books of literature. They are not works of literature per see, infact they are either interpretation of earlier works or criticism. Also, I am not trolling, by identifying the mistakes, I am also learning. Please, maintain a positive attitude. |

I'm not a literature person but from what I heard, T.S. Eliot is more famous as a critic than as a poet. One day I'll read The Waste land, his famous poem. There was too much mention of it in Aag ka darya, my favorite Urdu novel. A must read!

Literary criticism is literature in itself. The attitude is quite positive

Not strong enough. You can list as many books as you want but this cannot make you eligible enough to make any statement regarding literature just like "T S Eliot is not a critic" and "They (criticism) are not works of literature per see, infact they are either interpretation of earlier works or criticism".

The recent incident of few respectable members posting their fake DMCs has again diverted my intention to this very thread. In no way I am trying to promote my thread as this isn't gonna give anything in return to the net-id of "Sarrial Banda". But I would recommend you all members to re-think about the too serious & unnatural attitude that you people adapt on this forum. This isn;t good for you guys.
This is not a good sign dears. Be real, be what you actually are. I won't blame any single person for this but whenever someone tries to superimpose a false personality on himself, something like this or even more serious (God forbids) is bound to happen. Bottom-line: Always maintain a good sense of humor & playfulness & enjoy doing whatever you intend to do. Having good sense of humor isn't childish or immature behavior as is considered on this forum, rather, it simply shows contentedness of one's own-self which emerges from deep from inside & makes a person successful & happy with his life & his Creator. I beg you all, members of this forum, to PLEASE get rid of this fake & grave seriousness, which is in the end going to kill your true-selves & you will loose your unique personalities. As Steve Jobs said, "Stay hungry, stay foolish". God bless you all! |
