Default I wish I were not born a girl...........

I wish I were not born a girl
Or
I died as a new born pearl

I am food for hungry men
I am victim of every pain

I wish I were not born a girl
Or
I died as a new born pearl

I am a slave of cruel mentality
I am a rest house for hospitality

I wish I were not born a girl
Or
I died as a new born pearl

I am only a tool for work done
On a soil of fire I have to run

I wish I were not born a girl
Or
I died as a new born pearl

Dear Doli,
Your poem is interesting. it does represent the emotions of every suppressed women in patriarchal society. I tried my best to understand the meaning behind each word you have written. Yet some lines ran beyond my interpretation. It would be highly appreciated if you explain them in detail. pls

Thanks for appriciation..

I am a rest house for hospitality.

If men is angree he has to express his anger on her women for making himself cool.If men is ill she is a nurse for him all the times.when men has physical needs she needs to serve him for his setisfaction.Inshort all the needs and anxities of men are alwys derived setisfaction from a woman.

I am only a tool for work done
On a soil of fire I have to run

this means that a woman has to manage whole house for men..at father house for her own family and at husband house for inlaws...if she is a working woman even then she has to do all house work.where as borthers, fathers, husbands and other men never do all these things after thier jobs.so she has to run on a very difficult way where her own desires and wishes burnt out under her feet.

Interesting poem, unveiling the common feelings of oppressed and suppressed women.. You have got the talent doli, you can write it in a much better and emotional way.. Give a full vent to your suppressed emotions and you will see a marvelous poem on the paper.. Keep it up..

My Dear.. The psyche of males seeks and considers its dominancy, how much developed the civilization be.. Even I, though consider myself a literate and an educated person, free from all gender and racial and every sort of biasness, often see the roots of male dominancy in my sub-conscious and unconscious..

Salam,
Doli, my brother wrote a quick reply to your poetry... here it is along with yours.....

Were you not born O girl
No one ever known a pearl

My hunger and my pain,
Why? You take it as a gain

Were you not born O girl
No one ever been an earl

I am settled in my form
Wheneve, You care me as a mom

Were you not born O girl
Only would I’ve been a marl

Smiling, on a soil of fire,
How? You calm my soil of ire

Were you not born O girl
No one ever bent a curl

Why? A girl is always pearl
