Alone

The passing months have not erased,
This love I hold for you,
Your smiling face and sparkling eyes,
I see in all I do.

Although you may not feel them,
My arms do hold you tight,
And when I close my eyes to sleep,
You are there within my sight.

Our love held on through difficult times,
As your path became thorny and steep,
But we had enough love between us,
To awaken you from your sleep.

You reached down deep within your soul,
And with courage you made your stand,
Defeating what had tormented you,
Where previously you had ran.

Remember the words I told you,
And how I loved you so,
I said there would be no other,
But then how could you know.

So once again I say them,
Although you have moved on,
I will always love you,
