dil dharakane kaa sabab yaad aayaa
vo terii yaad thii ab yaad aayaa


aaj mushkil thaa sambhalanaa ai dost
tuu musiibat mein ajab yaad aayaa

din guzaaraa thaa barii mushkil se
phir teraa vaadaa-e-shab yaad aaya

teraa bhuulaa huaa paimaan-e-vafaa
mar rahenge agar ab yaad aaya

phir kaii log nazar se guzare
phir koii shahar-e-tarab yaad aayaa


haal-e-dil ham bhii sunaate lekin
jab vo ruKhsat hue tab yaad aayaa

baiTh kar saayaa-e-gul mein 'Nasir'
ham bahut roye vo jab yaad aayaa
