apnii poshaak se hoshiyaar ke Khuddaam-e-qadiim
dhajjiyaaN maaNgte haiN apne gariibaanoN kii
(Khuddaam : attendant; qadiim : old)

san’ateN phailtii jaatii haiN magar iske saath
sarhadeN tuuTtii jaatii haiN gulistaanoN kii
unko kyaa fikr ke maiN paar lagaa ke Duubaa
bahes karte rahe saahil pe jo tuufaanoN kii
maqbare bante haiN zindoN ke makaanoN se baland
kis qadar auj pe takriim hai insaanoN kii
(maqbare : tombs)

terii rahmat to musallam hai magar ye to bataa
kaun bijlii ko Khabar detaa hai kaashaanoN kii
(kaashaane : shelters)

abhii takmiil ko pahunchaa nahiiN zehnoN kaa gudaaz
abhii duniyaa ko zaruurat hai Ghazal-KhvaanoN kii
(takmiil : fulfillment; gudaaz : development; Ghazal-KhvaanoN : Ghazal reciters)
