Ke sar-e-fasiil-e-sukut-e-jaan
Kuf-e-roz-o-shab pe sharar numaa
Vo jo harf jarf charaagh thaa
Usey kis hawa ne bujhaa diyaa

Kabhi lab hilien gien tu poochanaa

Sar-e-sahar-e-ahad-e-visaal-e-dil
Vo jo nikahaaton ka hujum thaa
Usey dast-e-mauj-e-firaaq ne
Tah-e-Khaaq kab se milaa diyaa

Kabhi gul khilien ge tu poochanaa

Abhi kya kahien abhi kya sunaaien
Yun hi khawahishon ke fishaar mein
Kabhi be-sabab kabhi bekhalal
Kahan kaun kis se bichar gaya
Kisey kis ne kaisey ganvaa diyaa

Kabhi phir milien ge tu poochanaa.
