kabhi aa k mujh se to pochtaa k main kis k ghum main uddas hon

ye mere kitaab-e-hayaat hai, isay dil ke aankh se perhh zara
main warq warq tere samnay, tere roo baro, tere pass hon

ye tere umeed ko kya huwa, kabhi tu nay ghour nahe kiyaa?
kisi shaam tu ne kaha to tha k tere saans hon tere aaas hon

ye jo sheher funn main qayaam hai, so tere tufail he naam hai
mere shair kyon na gudaaz hon k tere laboon ke mithaass hai

ye tere judaee ka ghum nahe k ye silsalay to hain rooz k
tere zaat is ka sabab nahe kaee din se yon he uddas hon

kisi or ke aankh se dekh ker, mujhay aaise waise laqab na de
tera aitebaar hon jaan-e-mann, na gumaan hon na qayaas hon !!
