Meri nurm-e-dil to ujar chuki, mera furz-e-jan to simatt chuka
Sabii ja chukay meray humnashee.n mugar aik shuhas gia nhin

Dar-o-baam sub nai suja liay, sabi roshani main nuha liay
Meri unglian bii jhulas gaiey mugar ek chiragh jula nhin

Gham-e-zindagi teri rah main, shab-e-aarzu teri chah main
Jo ujar gia wo busa nhin, jo bichar gia wo mila nhin

Jo dil-o-nazar ka saroor tha, meray paas reh kay bii door tha
Wohi ek gulaab umeed ka, meri shah-e-jan per khila nhin

Pus-e-karwan, sur-e-rahguzar,main shikista pa hun to iss liay
Kay qadam to sub nai mila liay, mera dil kisi sai mila nhin

Mera humsafar jo ajeeb hai to ajeeb tur hun main aap bii
Mujay munzilu kii khabar nhin, Usay rastun ka puta nhin
