Zakham ne daad na di tangi dil ki ya rab.
Teer bhi seena-e-bismil se pur afshan nikla

Booy-e-gul, naala-e-dil, dood chiragh-e-mehfil
Jo teri bazam se nikla so pereshan nikla

Dil hasrat zada tha maeda-e-lazat-e-dard
Kaam yaroon ka be qadar lab-o-dandan nikla

Ae no aamooz fana himat dushwar pasand
Sakhat mushkil hai ke ye kaam bhi aasan nikla

Dil mein phir garyey ne ik shoor uthaya GHALIB
Ah jo qatra na nikla tha so toofaan nikla
