Aanchal ki hawa rakhna, loo iss ki bacha rakhna
Yay shama jidhar ho gi, parwana udhar ho ga

Jab raat kay parday say phir raat nikal ayay
Uss waqt kidhar jayay, jo ehhl-e-nazar ho ga

Tareekh kay chakar main wo morh nahi aata
Jab shaad makee.n hon gay, aabaad nagar ho ga

Bujhtay huay taroon ki jhilmil bhi ghaneemat hai
Iss tehri hui shab main, kuch wehm-e-safar ho ga

Afkaar pay pehra hai, qanoon yay tehra hai
Jo sahib-e-izzat hai wo shehr-e-badar ho ga

Mehsoos yay hota hai, har jalta hua tara
Guzray huay waqton main ik zakhm-e-safar ho ga

Sehmay huay panchi ki awaaz batati hai
Uss ka bhi yaheen koi, jalta hua ghar ho ga ...
