Us ne maktoob mein likha hay k majboor hain ham,
aur baahon mein kisi aur ki mehsoor hain ham,

us ne likha hay k milnay ki koi aas na rakh,
tere khawbon se, khayalon se boht door hain ham,

ek saa'at bhi shab-e-wasl ki bhooli na hamain,
aaj bhi teri milan raat pe maghroor hain ham,

chashm-e-tar, qalb-e-hazeen, aablay paun mein liye,
teri ulfat se, tere pyar se maa'moor hain ham,

unki mehfil mein hamain izn-e-takallum na mila,
unko andesha raha Sarmad-o-Mansoor hain ham,

Yun sitaaron ne sunaayi hay kahaani apni,
goya afkaar se, jazbat se mehroom hain ham,

us ne likha hay jahan mein karain shikwa kis se,
Dil garifta hain, gham-o-dard se bhi choor hain ham,

Tera beganon sa ham se hay rawayya Mohsin,
Ba'wajood is k, Tere Ishq mein Mash'hoor hain ham.
