Default Sufi-e-shehr mere haq mein dua kia karta,
Sufi-e-shehr mere haq mein dua kia karta,
khud tha mohtaj-e-ata, mujhko ata kia karta,

apni awaaz k saaye say hol aata hay,
mein bayaban-e-tamanna mein sada kia karta,

Mohtasib jurm mera dekh k khamosh raha,
khud khata'kaar tha, ehkaam-e-saza kia karta,

us fiza mein to farishton k bhi par jaltay hain,
mein yahan jurrat-e-parwaz bhala kia karta,

Rafa'at-e-daar bhi chohli teri khatir mene,
Munkir-e-Ehd-e-Wafa! Bata kia karta?

Tum ne to chheen li mujh se meri goyaae bhi,
Mein to ek kaghaz-e-atish zada tha, kia karta,

khud faramoshi k sehraaon mein gum tha Mohsin,
Koi us be'khabar-e-jaan say gila kia karta,
