Har ghari dard ki shiddat say sisakti ankhain,

uper se tere wasl k khawbon k azaab,

roz aangan mein kharay pair se girtay pattay,

aur sar-e-sham parindon pe guzarti aafat,

Nabz aur dil ki baghawat se tarapti hay hayat,

is bharay shehr mein barhta hua logon ka Qehat,

roz hoti hay mere sath deewaron ki jharap,

roz ik saans ko phaansi ki saza milti hay,

ab to aaja meri jaan k pyaaray dushman,

ab to aaja k tere hijr k qaidi ko yahan,

roz is shehr mein marnay ki dua milti hay.
