main sab teri nazar kar raha hoon yeh un zamanon ki s'atain hain
jo zindagi kay nay safar main tujhay kisi roz yaad aiN
to ek ek harf ji uthay ga pehan kay anfas ki qubain
... udas tanhaiyon kay lamhon main naach uthaingi yeh apsarain

mujhay teray dard kay ilava bhi aur dukh thay, yeh janta hoon
hazarr gham thay jo zindagi ki talash main thay, yeh janta hoon
mujhay khabar hay keh teray anchal main dard ki rait chhanta hoon
magar har ek baar tujh ko chhu kar yeh rait rang-e-hina bani hay
yeh zakhm gulzar ban gay hain yeh ahen-sozan ghata bani hay
yeh dard mauj-e-saba hua hay yeh aag dil ki sada bani hay

aur ab yeh sari mata-e-hasti yeh phool ye zakhm sab teray hain
yeh dukh keh nauhay yeh sukh kay naghmain jo kal meray thay vo ab teray hain
jo teri qurbat teri judai main kat gay roz-o-shab teray hain
vo tera shayar tera mughanni vo jis ki baatain ajeeb si thi
vo jis kay andaz khusro-vana thay aur adain ghareeb si theen
vo jis kay jeenay ki khahishain bhi khud us kay apnay naseeb si theen
na poochh us kaa keh vo deevana bahut dinon ka ujar chuka hay
vo kohkan to naheen tha laikin kari chattanon se lar chuka hay
vo thak chuka hay aur us ka tesha usi kay seenay main gar chuka hay..
