Kya Khabar thi ai nigaar-E-she’r tere ishq meN
Dil_baraan-E-shahr ke dil_daar ban jaayeNge ham

SaKht jaaN haiN par hamaari ustavaari par na ja
Aise TuuteNge teraa iqaraar ban jaayeNge ham

Aur kuch din baiTne do ku-E-janaaN meN hamen
Rafta rafta saayaa-E-divaar ban jaayeNge ham

Is qadar aasaaN na hogi har kisii se dosti
Ashnayi meN tera me’yaar ban jaayeNge ham

Mir-O-Galib kya K ban paaye nahin Faiz-O-Firaq
Zo’m ye thaa Ruumi-O-’Ataar ban jaayeNge ham

Dekhne meN shaKh-E-gul lagte haiN lekin dekhna
Dast-E-gulchiN ke liye talvaar ban jaayeNge ham

Ham chiraGhoN ko to tariki se laRana hai ‘Faraz’
Gul hue par subh ke aasaar ban jaayeNge ham
