Pardon me for being a "junior" member and still commenting here. I don't think the status of being a silent observer since 2013 earns me a right to comment on the day to day workings of the forum. But, I am going to open my mouth anyway.
"Haughty" and "hostile" are two different (yet somehow similar) words. I agree with Monk partially, but my emphasis is more on the "haughty" part of the statement. Strictness and a little hostility can work pretty fine. But haughtiness can be a major put-off. Again, apology for poking my junior nose in a senior members' arena. |

Again main question is not the behavior of mods but the question is why cssforum is becoming less attractive and informative day by day.

People have got more selfish, reluctant to share knowledge. even i myself haven't shared anything, Forum has become an information sharing platform rather a knowledge sharing one. in the previous 4,5 years i have seen dedicated members like last island, Sibghat, farah zafar, RAz, Zoyee and others, but now things have changed, new css aspirants must be active, we old horses are no more css aspirants, we are habitual, new aspirants must dare to share, believe me this forum is the most organized, respected and a distinguished one. everything here used to be authentic, and it should be in the future.

Old leaves fall but the new ones take their place so the gap gets filled.But the problem is that forum is not getting new active aspirants.The old ones had much contributed but with the passage of time they got other things to do.There are two categories;
1- Those who have accomplished their goals and have less interest in participating here. 2-Others are done with all three chances and CSS is out of their access now. @New aspirants,Helping hands are rewarded the most.You must not hesitate to contribute as much as you can.Believe me no one can take your seat even if you share your strategy or notes.

Now, seniors are failed to spare some time to guide and help the newcomers. New aspirants are more interested in collecting notes of others. They join the forum and start posting like; "please send me notes in my email box, Do you have notes, please inbox me notes of "xyz" subject, I need outline or post essay on this and that topic OR I have created group on facebook, skype or WhatsApp please join. If they can't make notes and research for themselves then how can they expect someone else will do for them. If they wouldn't like to share their thoughts, plans, interests and notes, how someone else can guide them. Mods are not active, regular and dedicated as were in past like Last Island, Sureshlasi, Qurratulain, Princess Royal and some others.

Dear Concerned,
While I cherish the quality debates I used to take part in on this forum some years ago, today when I logged in, I could barely find a single post under NEW POSTS tab where I would be compelled to pitch in. The reasons behind this could be many - and these may also be relative. To put it straight, back then it used to be "CSS Forum" & not "MCB, UBL, NTC or Fauji Fertilizer Forum". Threads did exist about all new jobs advertised but they never pushed the "CSS-Specific Threads" to the 4th or 5th page. Of course - the reason for this was the activity on those CSS-Specific threads which kept them on top. The fashion of "Breaking News" & "We reported it first" has also led to exigencies in correspondence - thus taking away the response time & building pressure for swift reply. This is also food for thought for the Owner(s) & Mods in case they are considering some changes into technical development of the this website - and not just increasing syntax/semantics/moral policing. Equally important is the revised syllabi of a many subjects along with introduction of some new disciplines. No senior member (let me call him/her Ex-Aspirant) is going to take pains of going through the revised scheme even let alone making notes & discussing the topics/paper here. It would be naive of the aspirants to expect this - being realistic. My advice, to those who take it, is to make the most of available material here. There's still plenty of it which you haven't perhaps explored. Start preparing new subjects on your own. You may fail - but you may pass too. Take the risk. This is your chance at learning something new. Few years down the road, it will be you helping the future aspirants on the subjects which we didn't have the chance to study for taking this exam. Trust me, real satisfaction comes not from taking & storing what you got; but from giving and sharing it. Good Luck! Regards,

True that, this forum has changed alot I remember when I joined it,
It was like flowing stream of knowledge with some of our country's cream discussing, helping, sharing knowledge but now it is just a LESCO, FESCO, etc jobs corner 85% of posts are Am I eligible, what will be syllabus, etc etc couple of years ago it was lobby for preparation, discussion, etc now it is FAQs type lobby ''Ask and Go'' Well reason I think is trend has changed, may be students now are more selfish or it is global trend because of softwares like Facebook, Whatsapp etc or our education system that has made us so or our society or it is increasing unemployment, yet to be decided Seniors still visit it but there is nothing for them to take part in, Alas! posts are mostly for eligibilty, form downloading, chalan forms etc, such posts are asked again and again no one even bothers to read all pages of a Topic, (Itni jaldi hoti hai bhagnay ki) and when every single thing is explained in ad, Still our generous Seniors help them out. (Thanks alot) Well Forum still helps everyone but there is nothing like it had couple of years back. In end would like to thanks everyone for such a helpful forum but yes it has changed. |

Various Alternatives
In todays hi-tech era, people have found many alternatives for discussion. The many we know are whatsapp, skype, facebook, emails. Many aspirants have switched to other sources that can be one of the reason of lowering css forum. Everything has to see ups and downs so be hopeful may be a time it will regain its old position. We try our best to facilitate junior members through our gained experience.
