When I happened to edit my profile I saw "download Vcard" as a link. Can anybody help me understanding what is it all about?

A vCard is an electronic (or virtual) business card. It is a powerful new way of allowing users to exchange their personal information with each other. vCards carry vital directory information about the user such as name, address, telephone number, etc. and are excellent means of including the users details within email messages.

Information transferred in vCards can be automatically added to address books, and interact with any application that supports the vCard standards.
