mods can you tell me what is the purpose of making any thread sticky? what does that sticky mean? i am asking just for information.

When you open a particular subject or particular portion in forum , some threads you would find on top of the list .
For example if you click on Sociology.
The threads on top would be sticky thread with mark of T.
They are easy to search as they are always on top of the list whether some one posts in them or not.
You know , otherwise only those threads are on top of the list which just been posted something.
Hope you would have understood .
