anyone remember what celestial occurance caused this mass cyber pilgrimage to the holy website??

was it the result date or something?

I guess it was the 2nd or 3rd week of CSS Forum being live on WWW. I unfortunately was not able to locate the original source of traffic through the statistics software we have installed but I am sure it was not from google since our website was not fully indexed by google those days. It wasn’t the result day either. After that we experienced big traffic flow many times but that didn’t exceed the record online users. Last week, I found over 200 users online simultaneously when the result was announced that caused the server to go down and I had to upgrade the server with double RAM and CPU share.

So do u think its a fictitious number or maybe from a beta test? considering your existing system crashed at around 200 users, is it possible for it to bear 335 ?

On that date the forum was quite new with very less number of threads (maybe around 100-150) eventually very small database and 335 users were utilizing very less CPU resources and memory. Currently with over 26k posts the database is quite big having hundreds of persisting MYSQL connections with each user online. The cpu is now double and is optimized + tweaked quite well. Our current server is of Dual Opteron Processors/2GB memory and it can bear almost 5-10 times load than 335 online users. So there is nothing much you should be worried about

Well,sorry to interfere,to me it seems it but a bit philanthropic.Agent 47 may well have an explanation if deemed approprite.Even if it does'nt come for one reason or the other,Hats off to admns without any exxageration or unwanted flattery for keeping things together till date,particularly Tidus and Agus,the old legendaries.
