Interview Tips

Job Description of Appraising/Valuation Officer

An appraiser is responsible for valuating and assessing the imported goods that are listed under the Pakistan Custom Tariff 2015-16. He calculates the custom duty, sales tax and income tax on the goods imported, after examination by the Examiners/Inspectors on the different entry points such as seaports, airports and sometimes dry-ports. He works under the Custom Act of Pakistan 1969 Section: 25 and 32.

Sorry a lot of "THE" in last. :P

Import policy?
  • Formulated by Ministry of commerce.
  • List goods that are prohibited to import / banned items.
  • List goods that can only be imported by govt. departments and ministries such as goods for defense purposes.

They have yet to issue the list of Inland Revenue Inspectors, forget about Appraising and Valuation Officers. FPSC is slow.

You r right brother. We should start wait for a&v officer result after inspector IR pre selections. Before that forget about that.
