Basically the most important literature was produced during 16th and 20th.But I will advice you to start from Beowulf the first epic in english literature published around 10th century maybe. So from 10th to 14th AD just read important authors and their works. Then from 15th to 20th read each and every author and especially their publication dates.Greek and roman literature has great influence on english literature.read important authors like Homer virgil and horace and their important works and their most important gods n godesses just to be on safe side. They will only take a page or two.Set aside french influence though. |
