Default How to apply for UN YPP?

Hi everyone.. congratz to the people who have been convoked and for those who couldn't make it i would say hang in there guys Allah has some better plans for u iA..
my question is that I am interested in applying for the UN YPP. I have done MBA with 16 years of education.. SO what else is there that I need to do in order to meet the eligibility criteria. I hear one has to be less than 32 years and needs to have a masters degree plus needs to be proficient in one the official languages of the UN,other than English.

So i would need ur advice to help me in getting there.

Many thanks..
JazakAllah!

Xeric has rightly told you that deadline for the registration of YPP-2012 batch has expired.
Normally, these positions are advertised in July. If you wish to apply for it then you need to visit UN Career portal during July-September 2013. A lengthy form has to be filled for the registration. Number of seats varies from 98 to 130 each year. Last year they conducted exam for 120+ seats on 7th December 2011.

Due to limited number of seats and huge number of applications, a tough criterion is set for short listing. Out of 35000 applicants only 5000 were convoked for written test in 2011. Nearly, 120+ candidates were convoked from Pakistan and none of them was convoked for interview as for as my little knowledge is concerned. Pakistan was included in UN YPP scheme after a gape of around 10 years in 2011.

This year there must be 40000 plus number of applicants and hardly 5000 to 6000 will be scrutinized for written test.
Test of YPP-12 batch is scheduled on 5th December 2012. Test centers are often selected in Capital cities so not more than one test center is decided in each country with few exceptions.

Suggestion: Keeping in view the prevailing tough competition for getting oneself scrutinized, your CV and covering letter will play a pivotal role. You will find lot of candidates who posses same level of experience and hold same degree with same grades/credentials but only few candidates from them will be able to get themselves short listed.
