Aint a bit confusing... why these tests then ? why not issb now and why after so many years of service ?
Do you mean same issb exam patern like out door indoor tasks , 4 days stay in cantt ??
a serving flying officer will have to take same tests?
and in case s/he can not make it, fails issb. then ? his years long services will be terminated out of no good reason ?

kindly resolve this confusion if you have some authentic information. thanx
If a person wants to change his career level from Special Purpose Short Service Commission (SPSSC) to Permenant Commission (PC) then read the following details:

Officers holding Short Service Commission (SSC), Special Purpose Short Service Commission (SPSSC) and Extended Service Commission (ESC) are eligible for the grant of Permanent Commission (PC) after three and subsequent years of their commissioned service subject to the following conditions:-

The officer must be below 36 years of age at the time of commissioning
The officer must have minimum grading of last three years annual OERs as high average, without any adverse remarks
The officer should possess a very satisfactory record in all respects
The officers who qualify eligibility criteria are detailed for ISSB and those recommended by ISSB are considered for PC
The lady officers who are willing for PC, may be considered for the same on completion of 10 years of commissioned service
The date of PC would be the date of notification

Reference: http://www.joinpaf.gov.pk/careeropp/pcgrant.html

In case a person is not recommended for PC by ISSB then he will continue serving as SPSSC until the period mentioned on his letter of SPSSC. Duration of SPSSC is 5-10 years and mostly it is extended unless the performance of candidate is extremely poor. Hope your concerns are clear now.

do you know any one who could not qualify issb ? i mean do they often fail detailed officers or most of the officers easily make it ? is a passing ratio more to failing one as per your observation? how many issb attempts for detailed officers ?
This issb test and that of g.d pilot, 2nd leut, sailor are all the same ?
and what makes pc different from spssc ? only periodic extensions ? or other benefits either ? kindly give a detailed account of the thing...
thanks
