Hello

with all due respect i do not call it unfair. I have met some Army officials and have discussed their recruitment process. According to them they have a "fix" criteria regarding the selection of Cadets and they want to select cadets who match that criteria. Anyone who is not at par to that criteria is dropped so is the one who they think is better. This is strange but true and further we can corroborate this by many of personal experiences of the members of this forum and your friends i.e where brilliant candidates were rejected ( according to you ) and mediocre selected. I think the army has a fixed criteria and its fine as long as it followed properly.
I tried it when i was in UET Lahore just for the sake of getting some experience. i was not recommended in my both attempt but i learnt very much about Pak army. This experience was full of entertainment and joy. We were given freedom of expression in group discussion as well as in interview. But as far as this exam is concern it is purely pychological rather than study oriented. In these tests mediocres are preferred due to the nature of the career one has to go through during service.
You must be joking right?? Any how you are entitled to your opinion, and i have a right to disagree .. and since our good Mod has already pointed about above i won't go into a lengthy argument in this regard, but one needs to be more circumspect before making such sweeping suggestion, based on a singular judgment that may itself be clouded with the prejudice of the innate human quality to protect the self from the realities of our imperfections... or something to that effect! Nothing personal, just my observation and opinion of course.

That's something many people say about several selection procedures including Armde forces and CSS as well. I met someone who was failed in CSS interview by FPSC, he also gave such remarks.

But not every time are people basing their remarks on preconception, sometimes wrong decisions are actually taken by such boards and commissions, after all they are also managed by humans like us.

P.S. It has been my observation at the national level that many of us include our armed forces among those holy cows whom people should not and can not criticize. Such bias is not justified until or unless the critic remains sane and only if he goes inordinate then limits ought to be placed.

Bro, I find my post deleted here, just because a "Holy Cow" was discussed........ I believe censorship of freedom of speech is not at all justified.... Criticism of some National Institution is not meant to degrade it, it may b aimed at correcting its loopholes... Any National Institution, must b accountable to people...

I m more surprised that Moderates hv mis-used their authority by deleting a thread... It wud b more logical 2 discuss things... we need to tolerate the opinion others....As if by deleting u can suppress the opinion what nation think about "Holy Cow"..........

@ F.S

I am really sorry but removal of those 4 posts wasnt our decision. Few members reported and requested for the deletion.

Absolutely agreed, I was merely pointing out that a mistake/errors of judgments can obviously be made by any one, at anytime. But to use that as the sole reason to suggest that the criteria entails one to be "mediocre" so to speak is a flawed logic in my opinion, and that goes double for the gentleman/lady who suggested that FPSC process is based along similar lines...
