Good Topic

Actually ISSB is More Psychological test thest then knowledge testing.I have my own expamle. After my FSc, i went for ISSB at Kohat for PMA 112.I prepared thoroughly , my father also from army helped me to go through obstacles, i crammed General knowledge, but after interview i was declared No recommended.I joined UET for Mechanical Engineering, finished last year, strated job cum css preparation, in the meanwhile, i applied for PAF , went through series of tests, including ISSB, but literally prepared not for single day as was not interested, i was selected for 102 Non GDP. I did not join Risalupur but one thing strengthened my believe, CONTINUE HARD WORK , YOU WILL REACH WHERE U HAVE BEEN DESTINED TO, DO NOT CARE OF FAILURES AND DO NOT OVER CONSIDER WINNING.

wat a start :)

Well ISSB is mostly 3 dimensional test. Obviously the psychological dimension is the most important one.

I think the key in ISSB is being what you are! All test are importnat but more even more important is the reconcilliation of findings from the 3 different dimensions.

Totally agreed,it is more a Psychologica test.It was a unique eperience for me.unfortunately i was not recommended for both the times, Long course 109 and 111.but being there at Kohat and Gujranwalla ISSB centre was a wounderfull outing:pp it also reminds me that i broke my middle finger during obstacles.:cry

@ Farooq
Atleast that wasn't an outing in my case. They keep you under stress all the time..

Thank God I returned safe and sound. My sis just said one thing when I was about to leave, " Hadian pori lae k ana" :shy So I did 5 out of 6 obstacles and refused for the ditch. Infact refused to fall in to the ditch. :) Since one girl before me fell inside and was unconscious till my turn. That was 6' 9" , almost 7 feet and I have 7 feet as best score in long jump but it comes after one or two attempts .. Then he made it easier for me since I had done all the other, he said I could jump that much long on the ground. I made it in the second try. We got 2 minutes for 6 obstacles..

I did nt feel that they were keeping us under stress.We got bulk of time every day after tests,obstacles,tasks etc.we had 3 days.we were allowed to go cafe,we used to play vollyball in the evening at Gujranwala centre ,there was a common room in which we were given the facility of playing video games even,we all were young and energetic.i found some good friends there to whom i am still in touch.There were some restrictions as well:sad such as they clearly fixed the areas where we could go,there were some restricted areas.we were ordered to switch off the lights at 9 every night and go to sleep but although we used to swith off the lights but we never went to bed before 12 or even 1 am:pp

@farooq

dear we used to switch off the lights once and switch it on again after 10 minutes at gujranwala..

The person who used to come and check the lights had to come again and again but in vain... we violated it a number of times .. we have had a lotttttt of fun there. i won a bet about entering in the Mess without shoes wearing a trousers and softy which u know was restricted ... then obviously indoor games were a source of entertainment as well .. those days were really memorable .. having fun all the time .. and as far as i remember there were 9 obstacles .. i did perhaps 6 in kohat and 13 ( 4 times repetition marks) in gujranwala ..

PMA Long Course

I tried it when i was in UET Lahore just for the sake of getting some experience. i was not recommended in my both attempt but i learnt very much about Pak army. This experience was full of entertainment and joy. We were given freedom of expression in group discussion as well as in interview. But as far as this exam is concern it is purely pychological rather than study oriented. In these tests mediocres are preferred due to the nature of the career one has to go through during service.

Artemis Thursday, April 16, 2009 07:26 PM

I didn't enjoy but luckily I got recommended. We were given freedom of expression in group discussion as well but I think it is not the right platform to exercise it. :) One should be thoughtful about what to say and what not, specially when you are being evaluated on this basis.

Without mobiles, PCO closed, out of contact form parents, lights off at 10p.m., up at 5 a.m. :con
