Default Timely declaration of results: a plea to FPSC

I WAS one of the 68 candidates who were called up for the interview for the post of assistant director, investigation, FIA. My case number is F-4-13/2009-R and roll number-----

The interviews for the said post were conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission, Islamabad, two months ago.
I called up the office of the chairman, FPSC, from where I learnt that the result has been withheld since one of the candidates has filed a petition against the commission for rejecting his candidature.

According to my knowledge, the matter is now sub judice. I am not aware whether the court has directed the FPSC not to declare the final results or the commission has decided on its own to withhold the final
results till further direction from the court.

But if the court has not bared the commission from declaring the result after withholding one seat for which the petition has been filed, then I would request the FPSC chairman to declare the results.

The recruitment process had started in March 2009 and delay in declaration of the results and subsequent delay in joining the department would affect our seniority and careers.

As 60 years is the superannuation age, every passing day means a great loss for us. In other words, it means that the undue delay is reducing the length of service and other benefits of the selected officers.

I believe that it is one of the primary responsibilities of the state to deliver justice to its people.

But in the course of delivering justice we should not forget its principles which demand that justice should not be done to one individual at the cost of others.

Just because one individual thinks that the commission’s decision was not just and he decided to approach the court to seek justice, this does not in any way mean that the careers of the rest of the candidates should be put at stake.

I request the FPSC that if the court has not restrained the commission from declaring the results after
withholding one seat, the result for the remaining 12 seats should be declared as soon as possible.

@businessline & all concerned.

The court has dismissed the petition of Mr Mansoor on 24th March 2011 and further directed FPSC to declare result. Hopefully the result will be issued during current week.
