The Test comprises of the following:
Essay 1000 words 25 marks
Precis 25
Comprehension 20
Narration 10
Sentence Correction 10
Word sentences 10
Difficulty level of the paper is way below the CSS Precis & Composition paper.
One needs to get 50 marks to qualify this paper. So start early and get yourself ready for the next important stage in selection process.

Does one needs to only qualify the descriptive written test by obtaining 50+ marks or fpsc shortlist the selected candidates on the basis of their marks in the descriptive test

i heard that passing marks are 50 and those getting 50+ are called for interview. but merit matters i think.

Although syllabus for descriptive test has not been uploaded by fpsc yet,but relying on previous years syllabus pattern the test is more or less paper of English grammer and composition of CSS exam.
