@ transcedence..
We have to wait for further correspondence from FGO..
Usually FGO dispatches offer letters after security clearance that is the next step..

"Dear Fellows,
First of all I'd congratulate you on such a great achievement. IB is a very prestigious organization and having served here for more than a year now, as AD, I feel myself both honored and privileged. By the grace of Almighty Allah I have been allocated in PSP (CSS-2013) and will be joining CTP next month. Therefore, it is likely that we may not meet.

I am writing this post in order to share my personal experience and suggest / advice you on certain points so that you may not feel any difficulty that we had faced due to lack of guidance. Things might have changed now but I deem it necessary to share so that it may help you.

Procedure of joining:
You'll reach IB HQ. Here you'll give your acceptance in writing and you'll be given certain forms / performas etc. including a medical letter addressed to the doctor in NIRM (Commonly called 'Mazooron wala Hospital', Sector G-8/2). You'll take that letter to the concerned doctor, he will ask you to undergo medical tests at Meditest Lab (Blue Area) and submit a challan at some NBP branch + Photos / CNIC copies and Fee. After all the prerequisites are fulfilled, you’ll present yourself before a medical board at the same hospital.

Suggestions / Advice:
1) IBHQ is in Pak Sectt. which is in Red Zone. No Taxi/ yellow cab is allowed beyond the barriers placed quite some distance away. Therefore, either come on your own private vehicle or I am providing you contact details of a reliable Taxi driver who owns a private car and helped me get through all the procedure.
Mr. Inam (ATS guard and part time taxi driver)
03455339526
03135035695

I remember the time when it was all raining and i was dropped by the yellow cab near Marriott hotel. Luckily I met this amazing guy then...

2) Reach as early as you can. I suggest you to be at IB HQ by 8 0am so that after you complete the formalities of acceptance, you can reach NIRM well in time and get all the requirements done in office timings.

I reached late and had to stay one additional day.

3) Bring AT LEAST Rs. 8000 - 10000 in cash. Medical tests cost around Rs. 4000 alone.

4) Bring AT LEAST 10 ATTESTED passport size photos and 10 ATTESTED CNIC copies. I remember we were searching for references. Some had to get Photos developed on urgent basis...

5) MOST IMPORTANT:
Medical Board in our times only examined once in a week and that was TUESDAY. You have to get all the things done before Tuesday. I remember that one of our batchmates came from Sindh on Wednesday and had to wait almost whole week to get things done.

Ideally it should be that you should reach IBHQ on monday morning and complete all formalities: acceptance, meeting doctor, submitting challan form, undergoing tests etc. and collect your reports by hand from Meditest Lab at 7 0 am on Tuesday and present yourself before medical board at 8 0 am. After medical clearance, come back to IBHQ before 4 0 pm and give your joining. Your pay and Govt service will start from this day onwards.

BUT you have to calculate risks too. Due to Dharnas etc / unforeseen events if you fail to get things done on Monday alone then you'll have to wait whole week. Secondly, your medical reports may turn out to be unexpected. And hence you wont have time to take remedial measures. I remember few of us had high levels of ALT / SGPT in LFT tests, some were over-weight, and few had lower HGb levels. So you have to keep this in mind as well... The tests were: LFT, CBC, Xray chest, ESR, Urine, Blood Glucose, Hepatitis B & C.

Important: If God forbid your medical reports do not turn out to be normal and there is no serious medical problem, you should request the Medical Board to issue you a provisional medical certificate valid for some specific period so that you may join the department and later get your medical cleared.
I myself got a provisional med certificate for 3 months on request. Those who didn't request were asked to re-appear for medical on a later date which hindered their joining the dept.

6) After Medical Fitness certificate is awarded by the Board you can give your joining to the department. Remember: Your seniority in your batch will be your FPSC merit number so no worries if you join late. Dont Panic!

Wish you best of luck and remember me in your prayers.

Best Regards,
Muhammad Essa K. Sukhera
hai what i could get of cadre services, it means proper approved career system through ages and inducted through css process.

As regards AD IB, I dont know much but what i have heard, its an issue of every intelligence agency that lot of staff/personnel is held at lower levels and upper hierarchy comprises less officers, similar is the issue with IB. So one cannot expect one to have 22 grade, while there could be chances of promotion upto B-20/21. That department started taking officers through FPSC as of 2001 and from thn all AD's were promoted to 18 after 5 years of their service i.e. the minimum timeframe for promotion from 17 to 18. Hope remaining can also be having some position and its first inducted group is waiting for promotion to B-19 as and when they complete 12 years of service in 2013, bcoz there are seats available for their promotion...

perks and privileges! ... Hmmm have heard that its a good administered and managed department and its officers enjoy quite officership, they get lot of respect and honour through their peers and juniors ....

20% Special Allowance is added up with pay, a newly recruited AD will get pay of around 30000, some hard stations get some extra allowances...... good nuisance value, in main stations pick and drop facility for all officers and all 19 above self driven vehicle. Some of 17 and 18 officers having good posts also get vehicle in main stations, while in field positions often there is no issue of vehicle as being incharge of that region they get hold of all resources including vehicles and some special fund... home bcome issue in major cities but even thn they use to hold some official homes on their pool and in Islamabad they are having BoQ sort of residences for single officers, at some places an AD can get house of 2 3 kanals easily... residential telephone, mobile sim and etc are some extra things..... foreign courses also given to officers..... they are not supposed to follow the provincial government or district administration and enjoy considerable level of autonomy with some level of accountability by department itself... i have heard that some of the posts/people at fields get lot of chances to make illegal money and many of them make as well yet its not a filthy or corrupt institution, overall its very better and devoid of much filth... also have heard that there is some operational side as well, though functioning at low level yet they get hold /detain people as well... since its not law enforcement agency and not officially allowed to keep people, so usually hand over people to police for presenting chalan etc...

because of good promotion, prick and privileges and nuisance value, foreign courses/trainings, foreign postings and many un-written powers, its good service but simultaneously suffocation/closed environment/remaining behind the picture etc are some issues that people dont like agency services ... at rare chances it can be termed a dirty business bcoz one may be required to do lot of wrong things (sins and crimes) including usage of intoxicants/alcohol or usage of other gender for some purposes....

Have also heard from some insider that the current government made some issues by cutting lot of funds , putting ban on purchase of new vehicles and computers/equipment etc and also reinstating around 1200 people in IB, 60 of them are at AD level. Such personnel were accommodated without any extra fund given to department, you can understand the situation that if 100 people were using some thing and now they have to share with 50 more tu scarcity is a natural factor..."
