Looks like a very serious procedure. Visiting 2 different places by different officers.

special branch and IB officials categorically perform two functions, verification of candidates recommended by commission , and sending reports to govt.
When ever i was recommended by fpsc,kppsc, those guys visited my home for verification

It is just a routine procedure . As per my sources, they conduct the verification in two ways. They visit the candidate's residence. Moreover, they conduct investigation on their own. The officials who visited my place said that they were sub-inspectors (BS-16). They also told my father that the job of on AD is easier than theirs as it is them who has to gather information on field. They didn't disclose anything else.
I hope it was helpful for the selected candidates!

Is this necessary for the candidate(female) to be present at home while these officials are visiting their residence?

No it is not. I did not even meet them. However, they asked for my CNIC, phone number, email ID, my mother's CNIC. So, its better if your family has your documents with them.

today an inspector visited my place. i wasn't at home. he met with my parents. asked about whole family, nic num, schooling of siblings, info about uncles, aunties etc. he said that another official will also visit within few days.
