If I were paper setter and I had to set 100 marks MCQ paper and 3 hrs current affair paper, I wont be duplicating Current affairs in MCQ paper.

MCQ paper would be of English/Maths/Analytical/GK. Division could be 20+20+20+20+20

and Current Affairs questions of 10 to 20 marks each.

Writting essays of 5000 words will neva show the talent, intellegence and analytical power of a person.
