Y?have u found something better than this?plz state something about the duties and suggestions to improve security system there.
Well to me the most teasing thing was duty in shifts;which changes daily.
Besides this both inspector and Dy AD asf are in grade 16 although inspector needs about 7 to 10 years to become Dy AD! Strange!
More over the DG is a serving brigadier ang many CSO s are army personnel which makes life of civilian difficult.you are treated under military laws ! Where one can be court martialed or removed from service on extremely petty matters;without any right of appeal in ordinary courts( there are numerous such examples)
You can't form any employees union to protect your rights, you dont have any,Dy ad is not given any conveyance or even residence, medical fecility etc.
As for improving security mechanism! They are working quite nicely and you can hardly quote any example of any terrorist attack on any airport despite troubled situation in pakistan!

Ali Mubashar, i had applied for both inspector and Dy AD asf in 2006. At that time i did not know which one is senior. Luckily i cleared both papers, but since viva and final selection of Dy AD prior to inspector so i did not appear in later interview. As i have told in previous post that Dy AD is senior to inspector, former is the Sector commander, under him one or two inspectors, two to four sub inspectors, asi s and many Guards perform their duties.
As for duties of asf is concerned, their prime duty is to safeguard passengers, airport building, aircrafts, and runway.and hence airport is divided into different i.e. Parking, building, and runway, each is headed by a company commander, who is an AD.each company is further divided into sectors, headed by sector commander, who is a Dy AD. Each shift is of 6 hours whose timing changes daily.their power/duties include watch and ward, search of passengers(body),vehicles, luggage with the help of instruments like metal detectors, scanning machines, cctv cameras etc.in case of credible information they can off load a passenger, where a passenger is in possession of any narcotic substance ASF hands them over to ANF,and those posdessing fake travelling documents are handed over to FIA , if there is a bomb threat help of bomb disposal squad is sought, if any other crime is committed ASF can seek help of regular police(there is a police chokey at airport)
In ASF duties are divided into different portions.like office work 08: am to 03:pm.ASF intelligence duty in plain cloths,ASF Police, and those working in shifts.
Hope it will clear things a bit.regards.

First of all, there is not much difference in salary of inspectors/Dy ADs.
Since i have left deptt; But my batch mates(Dy ADs) are getting around Rs:35,000.moreover their case for the upgradation of post to BS-17 is also under consideration.if it is accepted, another 15,000,or so shall be added to their salary and within two three year they might get BS-18(after promotion as Assistant Directors).regards

current salary of Inspector ASF & Dy. AD ASF

I am a serving inspector in ASF, freshly recruited in 2012 under case no. F4 40 2011/R. Present starting salary of both inspectors and Dy. ADs in ASF is Rs. 28,000 per month. Salaries of inspectors and Dy. ADs are almost equal, except that the Dy. ADs enjoy a special additional allowance of Rs.150 per month.
