ASF Inspector (Still the result is pending because ..)

Because FPSC is is gathering medical fitness forms and other missing documents (from those candidates who have not submitted with their forms ).So , it is before the time to talk about the announcement of final result. Moreover, till now, no result for initially scrutinized candidates is published on FPSC site.

If you are talking about ASF inspector case 158-2012, test date 21.2.13, then you are right. result is ready to be announced after approx. one week....so best wishes for all:-)
But the thread under discussion is about previous cases i.e. 145 &147-2011 ....and few people from waiting list receiving their final offers who have already appeared in interviews in the month of June 2012. Congratulations for them! :clap
Before addressing your query, I think I should mention that it was for the second time that I had appeared in interview at FPSC for a post in ASF. First time in 2009 for Inspector and this time for DAD. Both interviews were really great experiences for me.

The interview for posts, where no experience is required, is of general nature. They ask a great deal about yourself, your educational background, interests etc. Occasionally, they can ask (as it happened this time) questions about General Knowledge, Basic Arithmetic, Pakistan Studies/Affairs, Islamic Studies, inter alia. For example, this time the Deputy Director General, Col. Farooq, had been a member of ISSB Interviewing Panel and, therefore, was eager to ask questions in the ISSB interviewing style. Bombarding proportion/percentage questions without giving much time to ponder.

Since the job is related to Law Enforcement/Security, they expect you to have some knowledge about the prevailing threats and how to avoid these. Further, they also want you to show a little bit of interest in the position you are applying for, by sharing your information/knowledge about the job responsibilities. A general question that I had to answer both times was "What recommendation/suggestions do you have for ASF? Do you think you can find areas of improvement?" Of course there is always some space for improvements but you can only answer this question if you know about the Organization, the challenges being faced. The best thing is to have a non-formal chat with a person working in the target organization.

Another 'advice' that I wanted to give is to "Probe into the professional lives of the Interviewing Panel". The questions the interviewers ask are almost 50%-75% related to the fields from where they belonged. One of the interviewers this time was Mr. Moin ul Islam who had retired as Special Secretary, National Assembly Secretariat. Out of the five questions he asked, 3 were about National Assembly, Parliament and Constitution. So its better to do your homework before appearing in the interview.

One last thing, always appear confident and eager to get the position you are being interviewed for.

Best of luck.

Regards.
How one may know, who are the members of interviewing panel? Does FPSC declare beforehand the names of the members of the interview panel?

Yours sincerely
