Cloumn of Caste & Sect in Application Form of MoD jobs?
AOA
I invite the attention of all the respected members and seniors that under which rules, Ministry of Defence has included Column of Caste & Religious Sect in the Application Form for their recent jobs through NTS? Are we living in British India that selection will be based on Caste? What if a low caste candidate scores well. I have never seen Caste Column anywhere else? Are all the High ranked Officers of MoD belong to Sardar, Chaudhry castes? Do they mean that well Pakistan has got freedom but you people have not got freedom. Only People of high castes should apply and inferioirs need not to apply. There is no rule in ESTACODE & Military Books , that selection should be based on the Caste of the candidate. If it was not so then why it has been included then? Even CSS candidiates do not need to enter this info in forms. Also, what has been the purpose of including Sect Column? Will only a specified Sect be selected? Whatever it is but either they want to select a certain Sect or reject someone? This is against Rules & highly prejudiced. I have contacted NTS, they said MoD got these columns added in form. MoD has no answer to it as well. Well we are Living in a Feudalistic Society which is highly polarized with sectarian conflicts? But i never thought these things will get space in Application forms for Jobs........very sad. |

Those coming with answers that it is only for info should be informed that Column of Sect has space in Verification Forms after employment i.e after employment & not before selection.

Moreover as these vacancies are of some sensitive organization so that is their right to have all such information regarding people. i personally have met few persons of these sensitive departments who visited me regarding verification of candidates and these persons first & foremost question was regarding caste & sect. they are bound to ask such questions as in Pakistan Sectarianism is a big issue we all know well this.

i second you but that is a way of tracing fake or non serious candidates. as some candidates initially write wrong caste & sect whether unintentionally or deliberately but afterwards at stage of employment the candidate write some other caste & sect so to avoid this confusion these organizations demands this from the very first stage.

Yes all the Sardars, Chaudhry, Malik, Awan & other privilidged castes like YousafZais etc etc can fill that column quite proudly. But for the sake of argument, what someone will write in Application Form if his Ancetors used to repair shoes of people in a far flung village. Although he / she is a educated person and has never repaired shoes of anyone then, what should he / she write their........or if someone's ancestors (not him / her) were Barbers or more inferior castes...................what would he / she feel while filling that column & this form will go everywhere during all the selection process so even the chairman of panel of the board would also know...........achaaaaaaaaaaaaa you are ...................??????? You know rest of the things well. It is highly prejudiced, biased & is a serious concern for those belonging to lower castes & specific sects. |

no i do not second this regarding the issue of lower or inferior caste candidates will not be selected then this is wrong from its root. if dear member you do not feel some bad then i would like to say "a bad work man always quarrel with his tools"
we always complaint about such things but if candidate is competent and have strong faith and believe then neither caste nor sect matters. so do not panic about such asked information as candidate is providing all such information to a authorized organization not to a citizen of Pakistan so apply with full faith and confidence. |

Do you mean that all the high castes are more patriotic than lower castes? Absurd. Asking Sect is allowed, brother i mentioned it in above posts but that process is after slection & during verification and that info is concealed and that is no worng but this is strange asking in the pre-test application forms. Also, what kind of selection will it be in which Caste carries due space in application form? I am not debarring these sensitive organizations to know castes & sect but they should give due space to the Sensitive People of the Sensitive things as well. Doing it after selection is OK as it can not affect your selection. Doing it pre-selection makes the whole process prejudiced. This is my point. wait a little bit i will also post the article or rule under which it is allowed to ask such information in application forms. Recruitment Rule established in1962-63 and these rules are changed from time to time almost every year new articles are added. In these rules it is clearly mentioned that any recruiting agency or department can ask about age, CNIC, sect & caste and any other related information at very first initial stage. so nobody can not go to court or should have any issue about the demand of such information. i think dear member question is answered. Column of caste and sect

With due respect I can't agree with your opinion any more on following grounds. First, important to keep in mind that thease are intelligence jobs, therefore, it is of utmost importance to have & maintain a complete profile of every serving individual, view and tendencies assosiated with security appratus. Salman Taseer's tragic assasination manifests this point even further. Second, sensitive nature of jobs further mandate the MoD to scrutinize every individual on the basis of provided information to asses one's compatibility in the said organization. Third, provided info is purely of private nature, shared between individual/applicant and MoD. Therrefore, it is almost innocus to furnish one caste and creed. Fourth, I personally feel no degredation if my forefathers were show menders or barbars. Rather, positive side is that I feel more confident that due to effort of my forefaters or mine, I have ascended to a postition where I am applying for job for which sons of khans, maliks and chaudhrries are applying. Thus I expect that extra cerdit should be given to me because I have defied all the odds to reach at par with other. Last but not least, our intellligence appratus is not homogenous vis-a-vis caste, creed and sect, representing any specific caste or sect. Rather it is an heterogenous organization representing all concern. So moral of the story for you is to APPPLY WITH CONFIDENCE. |
