That’s right but if you add ionosphere which is an obvious layer then the answer would be 6 layers. Like the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, exosphere are major five and ionosphere makes them six. However, the answer was 4 layers if they would have asked the primary layers of atmosphere.

isonosphere is not a seperate region. it is in one of these layers

primary layers are 4 as narrated in many books. however in some books it is written 5 with exogenous. option of 4 was given while 5 was not there.

Can you recall the question statement? Was it,”Atmosphere is divided in how many layers” or atmospheres is divided in how many primary layers”. If it’s the first statement then the answer 4 is not justified and if it’s the latter statement then surely the answer would be 4.
