Default Another wrong decision of non recruitment of DSP/SHO's

Owing to present security situation and challenges of a country, it is vital to restructure the organization with empowered highly qualified new officers otherwise the system will remain stagnant. It is a sorry picture that the decision of direct recruitment of DSP /SHOs has been abandoned because nothing can match the quality and level of education of young and experiences lot presently existing in our country.

Chief Minister has to analyze the situation and go for the right decision of giving an opportunity to young as well as experienced youth to change the system and they will surely because I know some of the Inspectors hired during 1998 who not earned name in their department but also contributed in UN missions abroad with sincerity and loyalty.

Recruitment of Sub Inspectors will not bring any change due to their position and nature of job.

Further, Qualification should be master with experience fro DSP and Inspectors as Graduation ---- Age 30 + 5 years general age relaxation ---------- Experiences people should be given chance because they know the social and corporate problems from the root level and also the solutions -------------------

Dear, I agree with your stance, but the old police officers did not allow the recruitment of DSPs and SHOs due to their old thinking trend , fear to their performance lacking in the profession . we can see from history that ASIs has been recruiting since a long time but they could not change the system. Trend should be changed.. this recruitment is not going to be more effected for our society......

Police high ups have unjustifiably opposed the direct recruitment of DSPs, They fear that young poeple will not manifest as much subservience and submissiveness before their PSP bosses as do the rankers. These old people are true refelection of police culture and no change can be expected from them.

I suggest you guys to raise the issue in press. and this imporatnat suggestion should not fell victim to vested interests and wrong beliefs.

let me tell u why DSPs are not recruited directly. as after the specific period of time almost 8 0r 10 years, they are eligible to be promoted to the rank of ASPs. then they are to face opposition of ASPs selected by CSS/PMS exams. CSS/PMS passed ASPs say that they have been selected after a tough examination. how can these Ranker DSPs become equal to them.

There should be change in selection procedure, which is better rather than not to appoint DSPs directly.
Since the induction being of ASIs and ASPs, we are unable to change thana culture. we should induct more young blood on powerefull posts in a good quantity for change in thana culture.

Infact the proposal of direct recruitment of DSP/SHO's is really to be appreciated and credit should be given to one who has at least analyzed the police structure which I mostly think that some one should take this on board ----- As for as the comparison of CSS qualified ASP with these posts are concerned then no one knows that this lot is more competent and their skills are highly matched with the nature of job and there are so many cases in which the competent people dont opt for css but the attraction of police officer may force them to appear for that examination and one can easily imagine the competition which ultimately bring the change at large in the organization.

Let us hope for the best as the final discretionary power rests with the chief Minister and it is famous for him that if he decided something then it is very difficult to change his mind and his opposition termed him as "Zidi Gujjar" so we require his zid to be dominated in this case.

We are only raising voice for the change of system and betterment of people instead of own interests as may many of us are not applying for this post but the betterment of our such important organizations is need of an hour.

Brother you are mistaken, DSP and ASP are of equal rank , both in BPS 17. Both DSPs and ASPs are promoted as SPs however the directly recruited ASP get promotion much earlier than DSPs and has much better career prospects and exposure . DSPs normally reach to this designation after 20 to 25 years of service and majority of currently serving DSPs in punjab is those who joined Police department is ASI. Few of them started their career as Constable. Other includes those inspectors who were directly recruited during 90s.These Inspectors incurred the wrath of their PSP bosses for not showing subservience and Promotions were denied to them for long. Even those rankers Inspectors who were promoted much after the joining of directly recruited Inspectors , were were placed higher in senority list and promoted.

Besides , ASP s are not selected through PMS exam , rather only through CSS.

To my knowledge , only AJKPPSC directly recruits ASPs. As for as PMS is concerned , it is a cadre or group same as the occupational groups of CSS.

Excellent analysis Ms.Saleeqa Batool and if some one at top has to earn his/her name in the good books of governance to change the police department which is directly interlinked with all the social problems has to go ahead for the approval of direct recruitment of DSP's.
