Does the number of aspirants will have affect on the merit of TMO ? Kindly explain the expected merit and the ratio for calling in the interviews ? 60,000 is a huge figure

I wonder why people ask about the expected merit before the test has been held. After seeing the paper and the number of candidates, it is possible to some extent to speculate about the expected threshold but at the stage when still the time for submitting applications has not expired it looks childish to ask about the cut off marks.
