Is there any quota for children if a serving government officer dies during his service....i ve heard that his child can take his position straightaway

No employee's children qouta exists on officer seats..Its on non-gazzeted seats only and that too through some procedure , whatever , transparent or not

They can apply for the grade 1 to BPS 7 posts on family quota.

please see Rule 17-A of the Punjab Civil Servants(Appointment & Conditions) of Service Rules 1974 's sub para two (provided further that one child or widow/wife of a Government Servant who dies while in service or declared invalidated/incapacitated for further shall be provided a job against posts in BS-1 to 5 and the post of junior clerks BS-7 in the department in which the deceased Government servant was working without observance of formalities prescribed under the rules/procedure provided such child or the widow/wife is otherwise eligible for the posts).

Thanks for correction. Actually I am in federal department and here people can join upto BPS-15.

I have heard from someone saying that tmo seats are being converted into town planning officer. ..is it true?
