Arrow NAB approves enquiry against Balochistan Public Service Commission chief

ISLAMABAD - In a major development on Tuesday, the executive board meeting of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) authorised an enquiry into the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) scam.

The BPSC chairman and other members were accused of misusing authority, exercising favouritism, nepotism, and corrupt practices while appointing officials against 800 vacancies of grade 16 to18.

NAB Chairman Fasih Bokhari chaired the meeting, in which, it was alleged that the posts of head mistresses (BS-17) were sold for Rs 1.7 million each and assistant commissioners and assistannt director for Rs 4 million each without observing merit.
If the machine of government is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law.

Arrow Fake degrees lead to termination of officials in Balochistan

QUETTA: The Balochistan Education Department has terminated the services of five employees, including two daughters of Chairman Balochistan Public Service Commission Ashraf Magsi, following an investigation by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding fake degrees.

“All five employees were working in grade 17 and have been terminated after verification by the university proved that their degrees were fake,” a NAB official requesting anonymity told Dawn.com.

Earlier, NAB had conducted raid at the office of BPSC chairman after receiving complaints about irregularities and violation of merit in appointments.

NAB had also detained the directors. However, the officials were set free following a bail order from the Balochistan High Court.

NAB has also arrested former Director School Yousaf Kahoda for violating merit in terms of appointments. A NAB official said that Kahoda had appointed dozens of employees in the provincial education department in violation of merit.
