One should start job after level 2. Getting job is nit dependent solely on studies.its mix of personality, job opportunities and most important networking .
Pakistan has small industry of finance and investment mostly at karachi else one has to travel abroad for job.
After passing level 3 its relatively easy to get job.
Due to small community one has to rely heavily on links and jaan pehchan to enter into industry in most cases in pakistan.

Hey!! I have heard,CFA exam were cancelled for Karachi center!!.
Does CFA Institute arrange CFA exam again for you???

I had given at lahore. And heard exam going to be held next Sunday probably.

What exactly is the paper format ?
My ACCA qualifying attempt has just finished today, Now I am thinking about CMA or CFA.

I have heard that though CFA is very prestigious qualification, it is not as such recognized in Pakistan.What are your comments on this?

Level 2
Format changes in every level.
Level 1 : mcq type questions with 3 choice ms given (240 q in two sessions)
Level 2 : story based item set bit like comprehension in english mcq based( 20 q in 2 sessions)
Level 3 : essay writing questions and level 2 type mix

CFA creating its space in pakistan .we have such a small investment banking industry, mutual funds, insurance and pension industry forget about portfolio management and hedge fund. Its not recognition but small industry but I am disagree firms in investment and mutual funds brokerage houses encourage employees to go for CFA qualification with re- imbursement of total dues in karachi.

What is difficulty level of CFA part wise

Difficulty level increases with each level not only horizontally but vertically.
Level has basic level of understanding but in depth detail is not recquired ;relatively easy for having commerce accounts background . secondly testing is easy with 240 mcqs u could dare to spare certain topics .
Level 2 is application of investment tools so in depth knowledge is recquired alongwith alot of course to study and testing becomes difficult as I had written already in previous posts..

How much time for preparation is required ?
Minimum 6 months (300 hours for myself) are enough for level 1 and
9 months for level 2 and (800 hours) .

Can one do it purely by self studies?

Though it is self study program but its better to take classes due to lack of finance knowledge we get in pakistan.
Level 1 can be done by self but one would be gifted enough to do level 2 and 3 by so.

I have seen engineers doctors doing it. If u have interest in it u can do it.
Its not purely math s statistics or accounts related.

I think it is counted as CFA institute had written:
o enroll in the CFA Program and register for your first exam:
1. Meet the entrance requirements:
Have a bachelor's (or equivalent) degree
or be in the final year of your bachelor's degree program at the time of registration*
or have four years of professional work experience (does not have to be investment related)
or have a combination of professional work and college experience that totals at least four years. Part-time positions do not qualify, and the four-year total must be accrued prior to enrollment.

Work has to be evaluated by committee I know 2 of my seniors got charter having some branch banking experience along with others

In lahore there are 3 - 4 CFAs teaching full time.one of them has recently started video lectures in case one cant get time to travel and attend classes.
But

U should be ready to sacrifice your weekends ,.family gatherings and compromise on social commitments for CFA.ITS NOT ONLY COSTLY BUT DIFFICULT too.
If u can afford it and have no issues to move to karachi for job or abroad to get real investment career.u should do. It such a fascinating program and prestigious certification accepted globally.
