You can buy books from ibp local centre of your city.. Just check ot recent prices of your required books from their website and send a draft or payment order to ibp local centre of your city for the sum total of prices of these books plus Rs. 100 for courier charges.
Or else you can personaly visit local centre of ibp (usually situated in sbp premises) and can purchase books from there.
As far as preparation is concerned, you have mentioned about your economics background. I am an MBA and i felt no need of academy for preparation. All you need to do is a serious and thorough self study of ibp course books. Paper is normally 80-90% set out of their own books. you can pass the paper if you have read and understood the book. Dont waste your time and money in academy. For accounting and finance related subjects you can take some informal guidance or tution if you feel need.

I have to register for JAIBP first. And Don't know the process, it would be very kind if you can guide me for that process too. 'coz i couldn't figure the whole process out on the site. I mean they didn't tell that which bank is recommended for the fee submission of we should go for SBP for that. and Thanks a lot for the information.

sbots process formally for "actual qualified " candidates ws completed on 23rd jan ...its a long tym now they have been saying jaldi a jaye ga .i just wonder and feel very bad that at this prestigious organization special interviews were conducted then y we were fooled ???i know this is nothing new being pakistani ,but transparency ws my motivation .higher authorities demanding their lists to be approved ,it should nt b taking so long if it ws only to be signed by higher authorties on merit grounds ,without their influence .....

one of my colleague in the bank i m working also confirmed me about special interviews for favoured candidates ...anyhow hopes for the best n lets see what ALLAH ALMIGHTY HAS decided
