Plz guide me that whether syllabus for 2017 will be changed or remain same?
What about cluster based, screening test etc..
I am confused why people are opting subject from old combination while they know that there is no official announcement regarding 2017 syllabus...
Kindly guide me when this situation will be cleared???

.. now CSS is all about " Reading extensively, analysing it and then writing extensively". Select a combination of subjects which are inter-related e.g IR/Political Science + US/European/Indopak history + Int law/Const law etc and then correlate the topics with each other. Internet is now your best companion; dont rely on 20/20 type books and cover each topic from all possible angles with broad understanding.
I think it is a good thing that they want us to be knowledgeable, inquisitive and articulate. However, I don't think people on average will be able to set few months aside for it anymore. It is going to need a lot of time.

Regards,
I agree with you. I am studying Criminology and its theoretical portion; even though it looks innocent, it is not that easy to cover. I have to consult internet, youtube and FPSC recommended books and others to understand what's going on. I thought I was being very thorough here, glad to know I am not alone.

If you need a teacher (coaching) then get ready for investment of money and time.
You are very much right. I started English Grammar on my own but I realized I couldn't do it. So I had to hire a teacher. I am paying her 2500/hr and she is helping me with precis. I was thinking that well at least I can do optionals on my own but now I am not sure. It's too much money.

I don't know why but after typing all that, George Harrison's song, "I got my mind set on you" comes into mind. It's quite apt here.

Reading it kind of reminds me of Arif Lohar's chimta dance.

Sigh. Right but at least money should go to a good teacher. Getting a good teacher is an issue too.

However few things are worrisome.
1: What was statistics doing in EDS paper? Mean, mode, median question was not part of outline. Where did it come from?

2: I was checking Environmental Sciences paper and Ursula and Exclusively were discussing how in their opinion, examiners were looking for mphil standard students and how outline was not enough to prepare this optional. (Here is the thread link: http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-past-...er-2016-a.html)

This is troubling because not everyone has that much knowledge regarding optional subjects because that's how we take them, as optional. If examiners expect mphil level in all optionals then this is a huge problem.

So, if you attempted CSS 2016, how was your experience with this outline-paper relationship regarding your papers especially the optionals. What would you suggest to the aspirant opting those optionals? What did you take away from that exam week that you would like to share with us? warnings?

(If I presented wrong information or conclusion, let me know, will fix it)
It was my 3rd attempt and I enjoyed it the most.I was better prepared than before and the papers were quite challenging as well so it proved to be game of chess for me I don't know whether I would checkmate my failures or this result would checkmate me but seriously it was worth playing !
It must have shaken crammers and I appreciate this trend but papers must also be checked in the same way.I mean justice should.be done.
In Urdu literature paper, tashreeh was not included in syllabus but it was in paper.I have good command over Urdu but it confused me for a while.First I cursed the paper setter then I controlled my nerves and pondered over that.I took it as a challenge because all aspirants were in the same boat.I thought if I succeeded in attempting it correctly,I might get an edge over many others.Let's see what happens
Overall papers demanded thorough study as well as critical approach. This is what we do in English Literature, critical analysis!
Mujtaba has elaborated it very well,
