anyone interested in CSS age limit Extension
Age limit had been a hot topic on this forum in the past, but the discussion has completely died down after age limit was extended to 30yrs.
I am writing this as myself and many others have not had a chance to exhaust their attempts till 30yrs of age, there is huge population of candidates that are left out of CSS race solely due to age considerations. I believe, at least, because of being competitive examination, there should not be discrimination based on age. I am totally in favor of abolishing age limit altogether and letting the best come forward. No position in CSS requires extensive physical fitness and all positions are supervisory in nature, even if someone can argue for physical fitness particular for PSP, physical fitness exam can also be instituted. So as long as you pass physical fitness, age should not matter, and remember that it is just one group that might remotely require physical fitness exam. All others are pure supervisory roles. So those people who are interested in expending their time and money for an opportunity of better future should come together and form an action group to get the desired results. |

This is a very serious matter and too close to my heart. In the recent past there were many voices on social media regarding an organized effort. But now all voices have vanished away. May be all got disappointed. I wish something could've done, a systematic campaign through pm citizen portal, twitter or through anay available means. There's a lot that can be argued in favor of age extension.

i second your opinion, but o want extension in age limit plus number of attempts since in India atleast 6 attempts are allowed in civil services exams for general category and more than that, even unlimited attempts to some minority as well as backward classes. Also, despite qualifying the written exam, many candidates don't get allocated because of lack of the availability of seats. So, number of attempts must also get increased.

Age limit should be increase from 30 to 35. Though thousand of candidate would get benefit immediately by increasing age limit, their chances of promotion to grade 21 or 22 would be no more because of age factor. Any person who has selected at the age 30 may not get grade 21 with service of 30 years. Remember that age of retirement is fixed at 60 years. Minimum three years before taking charge of any office is compulsory training i.e. CTP , STP, field attachment and fpoe. Hence, with increasing age limit , candidate could not promote to higher grades.

the first and foremost thing that we could get started with is PM citizen portal. at least make this issue seen and heard, float it on the ground so that more and more aspirants join in to substantiate the efforts and put them on the right track. this isn't any out of the way favor, instead, this is the common pattern of civil service structures around the world where age constraint is never so low. this unfair age restriction is keeping many great minds from entering the race. students coming from Urdu medium background and less privileged class never get a level playing field. we all must strive to at least make this issue heard.

If you people are interested then first you need to know the procedure to change age limit or age extension.
As my info following is the procedure (anyone can also add or remove any stage if he has more reliable source of info for age extention) Firstly, a commitee headed by secretary Fpsc will submit his recommendation to extend age limit. Then it will go to Establishment devision in Islamabad. Secondly, after approval from secretary establishment it went to Cabinet of Pak. If i am not wrong i think Establishment division can also initiate this procedure directly without taking any recommendation/suggestion from Fpsc. So if anyone has direct link or sources then they can mobilize establishment division for this cause (i think shahzad Arbab is heading establishment division currently). Thirdly, after approval from cabinet it become part of act. So as per my knowledge this would be the procedure - anyone who works in establishment division or fpsc, he may correct or add some new and genuine info - but last time it was Ahsan iqbal heading Ministry of Planning and Development extended the age limit to 30 years and fixes the min 16 years of Education for Css. So i think Ministry of planning and Development which is currently under Asad Umar can initiate this process. So if anyone has direct contact of Asad umar he may request him for this correction. It will also help him and his party in winning some votes. Fourthly, the real problem is that IK is running state of the affairs through non-electables (like SAPM e.g. Israt Hussain on institutiin reforms etc ) and he is the focal person right now for institutinal reforms or u can say at this moment he is rhe genuine person who will help u in extending age limit. But israt hussain as i heard him while answering age extension question in a session he said age relaxation till 35 is not possible ... but 32 may they consider (i am just sharing his thoughts on age relaxation). Fifthly, in short if u people really want to extend age relaxation then instead of wasting time on citizen portal try to be directly in contact with people like Ishrat Hussain and Asad Umar or raise this issue on electronic and social media to built narrative and hence pressure. Sixthly, from current gov Fawad Chudary is the only person who is very vocal among all issues and his voice also heard and get media attention as well. So if anyone has approach to Fawad chodary then he is also instrumental to raise this issue in cabinet meeting as well. Seventhly, there is journalist Hassan Khawar who writes about civil services reform mostly and so try to have access to him or journalist like him who will further asd to your narrative. Lastly, it is you who define your limits. Anything is possible. You just need to push thus issue for 32 or 35 years of age. Remeber generally rules for css annually adv till may/june and then after that fpsc adv the schedule of formal css applications for written part and also exam date (this year it was not followed). So all the best who are seriously looking for this issue to be resolved. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk |

How realistic and likely is it that at the federa level (for css) and similarly at punjab level (for pms punjab) such reforms may be carried out? Personally i hope they increase both the age limits and number of attempts allowed for css, pms, pcs, etc. |

Also, max age should not be increased from 30. It is enough. My 4 years were completely wasted due to a serious illness and still I am saying that, so it should be enough for others too. Thirdly, they should introduce a screening test to filter out these non-serious candidates along with a chance wasted. How is this possible to check the papers of 35 to 40 thousand candidates word by word. And I am seriously concerned about that. Lastly, we have developed a habit of protesting against every other thing. If there is a screening test, people will be protesting to lower the threshold. If there is an age limit, people will be protesting against that too. Rules should not be relaxed to please a fraction of population because people will never be happy. Even if they increase the age limit to 40 and max. chance to 6, after five years people will demand 10 chances and an age limit of 45. |
