As far as strategy is concerned, i would do only English part for first 3 months and then start compulsory subjects and in the last I would touch the optionals (mine are Geography, Islamic History and Culture, and Psychology).
When we see all the subjects categorically, only English(es) and Islamiyat are the subjects which cause failure of most of the candidates.
I am teaching some guys EDS now a days as well at Lahore.

I also want to appear in CSS 2013, my strategy is to first prepare compulsory subjects and then optional subjects. share your strategy.
