i regret to say that no one is interested in css age relaxation i guess as yesterday we had a meeting in islamabad to disscuss our future line of action and to finalize the date of protest but i was astonished to see the number of students, people just post here for a fun, no one has a courage to come forward practically and support us, i thought it was our mutual interest. we discuss the matter in detail and reach to the conclusion that date of protest should be 30 december, today i am not asking to support us, if anyone is interested come and join us otherwise don't waste your precious time by posting. i need physical support not verbal support.

This has been the very tragedy of our people. The people here in this thread are very good in commenting and suggesting but they dont come forward when its action time. From now onwards, I request you people to atleast keep your FRIENDLY ADVISES AND SUGGESTIONS aside and come forward only when you have the guts to stand by us.

Dear brother, I appreciate your effort but couldn't attend meeting at Islamabad as I'm located at Karachi and exam preparation is at its peak. CSS has diversified candidates from all cities and villages of Pakistan, we can't gather them in person at once. Consider any other method, Skype meeting may work.

"I appreciate the efforts of Mr Mushtaq and other who attended the meeting.I am still hopeful. I have also attended the meeting of 11-12-13,traveled all the way of 12 hours,spare my time to this campaign. As i am sure that we all are busy in different options(scholarships,other Govt jobs,Going abroad,some are doing jobs and study) not fully rely on CSS. But be consistent and sincere to your ambitions as well. Think and sensitize yourself again what is your top priority?either go with your all options and become 35-40 year old and repent that why you did not try when you were 28 year old Or go with us to peaceful protest for our rights to appear in written exam.We are not demanding jobs,any thing else just a chance to appear in written exam. Don't you think this is our right "

Very true words by Ms. Rabia. We have initiated this effort and we need full support of everyone. Let not build the days when we will repent on our NO EFFORT for the cause later. Lets be united and give it our fuller strength. Together/United we can do it InshaAllah. We need concrete and concerted efforts. You all are invited to take part in the peaceful protect. Believe me dear, this is our only chance. Only we and we can do it and no one else. I request you all to be united and lets prepare fully for the protest. As per Rabia's statement, everyone is busy here in jobs but if we have a destiny, then we have to make efforts for it. Nothing is for free in this world. So we have to compromise in one way or the other. The choice is all yours.

PESHAWAR: The overage aspirants of the Central Superior Services (CSS) examination will stage protest outside the Parliament House during its upcoming session to press the government for their demand for an increase in the upper age limit for competitive examination. Rules bar any individual above the age of 28 years from sitting in the competitive examination. The aspirants, who have become overage, are seeking an increase in the upper age limit from 28 years to 30 years.

They have been raising their voice on several forums to convince the government to relax the age limit, but to no avail. They are now preparing to stage protest outside the Parliament House in Islamabad in an effort to plead the case with the lawmakers. “I couldn’t get through the CSS examination 2013 and now this age limit is preventing me from taking the exam,” Mushtaq Ahmad said. He said many candidates would be unable to take the CSS examination in 2014.

Shaukat Ali, Haseen Hamas and Mushtaq Ahmad said that an increase in the upper age limit would enable them to sit in the examination.

They argued the 28-year age limit was unrealistic in Pakistan as many of its areas were underdeveloped and impoverished. “In several regions in Balochistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, people are poor and parents cannot afford to pay for their children’s education,” Mushtaq Ahmad said. “Students take up jobs to pay for the expenses of education, which wastes their time,” he argued.

He said the age limit was discriminatory as government officials were given two-year relaxation, but the same was denied to them. He contended that other countries in the region allowed candidates up to 35 years of age to take the competitive examination though literacy rate there was far better than Pakistan.

Keeping in view the socio-economic situation of the prospective aspirants of CSS who could belong to any region of Pakistan, government should consider revisiting the bar at the upper age limit and should relax / increase it by 2 years atleast. Quality Education in Pakistan is becoming more expensive and unaffordable, while the socio-economic situation of the country compells many to join jobs before completing even Intermediate. In this scenario, when one has the quest to continue his or her education and play a substantial role for a better future, bars like low upper age limits hurt more specially when the government also banns recruitment to its functionaries and departments.

Therefore to lower the unemployment rate and grasp the maximum labor force in contributing their skills and abilities, the government should consider increasing the upper age limit for the Competitive Examination for recruitment to the posts under Federal Government.
