Best of luck for your endeavours. Try studying smartly. Read summaries of different books related to topics of your subject. And don't get frustrated if you are not able to study at the beginning. At the same time don't get confused regarding books;if you think that you can cover syllabus from books of your choice then it give it a go ;self belief is a main thing here as I am being told by one of my mentors that it's most important thing if you want to do anything in your life , because at the end it saves you from procrastination and confusion. Keep on moving with 'can do' attitude ; that only you can do it for yourself ,no one will be there for you. Don't pay heed to useless facts ,for example, if he did it in a year then how I will do it in 4 months, if passing percentage is so low then how I will pass. These things have nothing to do with good preparation .Remember ,if you pass this exam then passing rate is hundred percent for you,if you fail then it's zero. At then it's your believe in yourself and hardwork that will pay you off. You will do well in Shaa Allah. One more thing regarding time span scenario. You know what ,you have got 4 months left !! It means that now it's time to fly higher as it's being said by Iqbal ;

"Don’t fear the intensity of opposing-wind, O’ Eagle
It only blows to help you fly even higher."

Well , if you are going to read from one book then make sure that it has got some good quality material in it . Most of the times , books by local publishers are just copy paste stuff from other sources . So ,it means that they are just a 'compilation' of material. Chances are that they will be having some good stuff in it , and at the same time ,for some topics quality is compromised . What you can do now is this that read these books ,with it add some relevant quotes , facts, figures etc. Maybe watch some 'relevant' videos related to your topics for understanding . add some stuff from research papers, read summaries of books relevant to your topic. But ,while doing these things don't panic. At the end , you want to secure allocation. And i think these things can be done in remaining time if you stay relevant . Staying relevant to topics while studying is a key here . if you have to do a topic like 'energy crisis in Pakistan' , then just write it on google while adding words like opinion and column to it . Go through top 5 to 6 searches ,and then add this material somewhere on the sides of book ,if you can do it , if not then on some paper. At the end , if you want to secure top positions then you will have to stay updated with the topics because i think that's what examiner wants. This is why , you will have to add some quality stuff to these books that you have already bought . If you are not able to apply these things to whole syllabus , then at-least try to cover half topics with this approach. I think at this time while doing all these things , make sure that when you do any topic then you do it with 'full attention' ,with mindfulness, then revision will take less time. Keep this thing in mind that you will have very less time for revision , right now you have to tackle things in a smart way so that you will be able to revise topics easily.

sir actually i have extended my study timings and since 5 days i am working from 10 am morning to 5am next morning and its round about 18 to 19 hours although i take small naps to relax my mind , namaz break and food break in b/w just for 20 to 25 minutes and my strategy is to complete my whole syllabus in 2 months or 10 days more and the rest of the time is for revision while essay and precise will go with this from now to the end inshaaAllah and and i will apply your strategy to my preparation inshaaAllah from today.

at the end of the day sir i will try my best till the exams without leaving any loophole for the examiner and i will leave the rest to Allah SWT ,
"jaan laga do ya jaany do" i think here i need this strategy.

maybe I could succeed by this and get an allocation in the top groups.

It depends on your prior knowledge, english skill, and subject selection.

A friend of mine recently cleared and was allocated from a Punjab seat. He studied only 1 month, and got allocated on first attempt. He is not a genius but his written expression is very strong.

Another friend studied for 1 full year and failed, even though he had Sindh rural seat. His english was weaker and he was not as well read. He gave it again and is awaiting results, hopefully he is allocated this time.

Answer is different for everyone. I think 4-5 months of honest studying is enough to at least pass.
