Default CSS Advice: Preparation along with job

I want to ask the Seniors that:
(1) Can an average minded person can prepare in 6 months for a tough competition like CSS or it requires extra time.?
(2) Are there any success stories of individuals who qualified the exam while doing job.

I am looking for a pragmatic reply.....

Dear,
You know the qualification for a student vying for CSS is simple and that is a Bachelors Degree with 2nd div. This is the criteria for the students eligiblity for CSS exam. So a person need an effort and consistency in order to cope CSS. Its the methodology, plan and the strategy one must chalk to do CSS, which he can accomplish even in 6 months.
Answering to the second query dear, there are many students who have got their dreams materialised by qualifying the CSS exam while in service. The only thing you have to do is to formulate the timetable, the art to cope with the situation and the ways you have to formulate. You must stick to those plans and inshallah success will be yours.
Remember there are CSS qualified candidates who even bettered their position and post in 2nd or 3rd attempt.
So consistency, commitment and the augur to achieve the target is the need of the hour. Hard Work always pays you back.

Well yes....if you know what yours optionals are and stick to them, if you know the right books to study and you know how to manage the pressure, it can be done....but it entails a lot of ground work.....you will need to put all your heart and soul into it....cant be doing it otherwise.....if its your first attempt, then you will need to work extra hard....but working hard does not mean you fatigue yourself with extra work and details....it means working smart...learn your subjects.....where you can, take calculated risks, remember you still have options in questions, that is some corners can be cut...but they are few and far in between.
Start with the previous papers once you have completed reading a subject. Attempt to solve questions from there and try compiling a list of the MCQs. That should help.
The abyss or the whirl pool that sucks in most candidates are the twin papers of English. I suggest you find a good teacher and get hold of at least two good books on the subject (plz read the forum for suggestions to that effect) and you must start reading an english newspaper daily. Either of the two, The NEWS or DAWN will do. For CA and PA, you ll find good posts on the forum posted from time to time. you can also try notes from any of the various academies being promoted on this forum from time to time by those members that have used them.
preferably, get a group or a study partner if you can. That way your short comings are exposed in daily interaction. Thats the quickest and smartest i believe you can do to cover it in 6 months with your first attempt for an average Joe.

My dear, there are more than one example of ppl having done it while on job, including yours truly. while it is certainly tougher, it none the less is do able. talk to your employer and see if you can get an hour or two off earlier everyday or a day extra in the week off. if not, get posted to a section where you can find an hour or two to study between work. if not, then ask someone to do the house work and other chores for you amongst siblings and concentrate on your studies solely, if not, well then tighten your belt and take a leap of faith. You never know what lies at the end of the way

Wishing you all the best in your effort.

AOA,
Dear friends css preparation can never b bound in certain time-frame bcz it's simply the devotion of candidate that how much time one gives to study. The next important thing is proper planning, dividing each subject in different portion and covering each portion in fixed time. Then undoubtedly it's all about luck which decides the rest.To simplify it is the art accompanied with luck.tc

highness
who can say after interacting with thee, that you are a person lacking intelligence and vigor in any way....you are being way too modest. I plead guilty to thy charge and seek forgiveness if it can be. yes it can be done with jobs or without jobs....and the prime example of with job is none else but thee....and its not about finding excuses to say oh i cant do it....
but finding the will to say "i can"

@Vivre

Thanks buddy for your bestowing graces upon this humble creature.. Hope to have few more like these in near future.. lolz..

Oriental saahab,

plz do not worry about time schedule or study hours. u had better study for two hours for a subject for css exam but that must be with a mind. with an attention. with a focus. u must rather make a mind of css if not after all a habit of study for css. Develop psychological traits and make a mind of css. from making a mind of css i mean to say that u must observe, read, perceive and hear things from the point of view of css. from now on, u have to be sharp enough to pick and grab any point which u come across. i mean to say that u must collect data about the important events not only in pakistan but around the world. think as if u wre to write the problems of pakistan economy inthe pak affair paper. think about the speech of Obama when u hear it on TV channel that i will attempt current affairs paper and i'll refer to Obama's speech while discussing the US policies on IRaq, Afghanistan or Pakistan. Thin of the NFC award as something as if it would be asked about in Pak affair paper. Think of the Power crisis in pakistan as if it would be asked in the paper. even if u dont study that rigorously, u can at least make a mind...

Hope its enough for the day..

Regards,
Cosmic liberitne

Dear,

Rome was not built in a day as they say... u have to be calm n cool n patient plz.. but a distance of a hundred miles is started with the first few steps... so take the steps. if u dont take the steps then the journey will never start.. start yr journey with reading first. read for a month. but read alot.. then try wit writing. once u read alot, u have an urge to write. this urge will make u write naturally...
