@werewolf
sir, while answering any question we need to be PATRIOTIC PAKISTANIS and diplomatic as well .
but there are certain issues where PAKISTAN'S role is being criticized even by patriots of this country. say for example , any thing related to terrorism and its roots in Pakistan we all know that Pakistan played a key role in training jihadis; so how to be diplomatic if we have to present this scenario either I should write that according to certain reports issued (LEAKED DOCUMENTS) by CIA or any other source suggests that Pakistan was involved in that game?? or simply present this fact as it is ???:thinking |
but that was about Journalism and now i am asking about Pak Affairs
hahaha.. how innocent of you, my dear flower! ;) Of course i answered you about journalism earlier, but that's on page 6, post 58, for pakistan affairs visit page 4, post 33 as i told you in my previous reply.
Sir one more tiny question =) How did you prepare for the Synonyms and Autonyms? It's a 20 marks question and when I try to solve it on my own, I can only make 2or 3 correct (I mean out of 20) Plus do you think it makes an impression on the examiner and rest of our paper will be marked accordingly ?
Dear REEBA, Synonyms,Antonyms both make up total 10 marks and not 20. To make them all correct, you need at least 1000 Kilograms of luck ;) however, for your own part, you can very well rely on 3-step strategy. 1. enhance your vocabulary as much as you can, but don't get possessed with it because there are many other things which deserve your time more than this. 2. If step1 fails during exam, you should break the word into its syllables, prefix, suffix.. Many a time you get closer to the meaning of a word by just knowing the meanings of its root words, for that i have a very useful link for you :) http://www.prefixsuffix.com/rootchart.php During CE-2012, i encountered a word "INSIPID" i broke it down into 'IN' , 'SIP' and 'ID' In= used to oppose something Sip= it means to drink something slowly by enjoying full taste, So, the closer i got was "something dull in taste," and EUREKA!! i was right ;) Above link is awesome. it gives you the formula to solve these 2 questions with considerable accuracy :) 3.If both of the above steps fail, then TUKKA-TECHNOLOGY is always there to serve you ;) And attempt this question in the end, don't waste your time over it in the beginning. that's very important. and so, if you do this in the end, then there is no question of impression. Hope this would help :)
sir, while answering any question we need to be PATRIOTIC PAKISTANIS and diplomatic as well . but there are certain issues where PAKISTAN'S role is being criticized even by patriots of this country. say for example , any thing related to terrorism and its roots in Pakistan we all know that Pakistan played a key role in training jihadis; so how to be diplomatic if we have to present this scenario either I should write that according to certain reports issued (LEAKED DOCUMENTS) by CIA or any other source suggests that Pakistan was involved in that game?? or simply present this fact as it is ???:thinking
Dear QURAT, if you have to quote something against Pakistan, then quote only those facts which are authentic and recognized by some official authority and that too, in a subtle way. But if you have to quote something in favour of pakistan, then even the unrecognized ones would work just fine, hehehe.. ;) This is diplomacy, and it is common world-wide. at this stage you have to be much cautious, because unauthentic anti-state statements could be very harmful for you. but after qualifying and getting allocated InshaAllah, do or say whatever you deem right. so, save your grudge for the later stages ;) And yes, you are right, but the wisdom says, "DO IN ROME WHAT ROMANS DO" Hope this would help :) |
Sir you missed my post about sociology
@werewolf please explain how to make notes for current affairs?
If you have to make its notes then first pick up only the general topics that could help you for long time, First make 2 classifications, National and International National issues should comprise of national long-term issues like Education, Terrorism, Energy Crisis etc And International should contain topics like World organizations, New Great Game, Arab Spring's latest update etc Now, for national issues, start with intro or background, then a bit details then causes, results, solutions etc. focus more on facts and less on details. They should look like shorthands so that you can revise them easily during exams. Same goes for international issues, just you should tackle world organizations more like a chart with columns and rows. Put them all in a single chart column-wise and put their details row-wise e.g formation date, number of members, names of members (and don't write names of UN members ;) ), headquarters, economic steps, etc This would help you in MCQs as well as comparison questions as asked most of the times related to world organizations. Don't waste your time on making notes for things that happen daily. Be general and long lasting. Got it?
sir majority of seniors here on the forum are of the view to drop sociology as it was badly hit last year. i haven't started it yet but i feel comfortable with this subject as iv'e studied it before in intermediate. what would you suggest me should i go for it or not, my other optionals are 1. psychology 2. US history 3. Punjabi 4. journalism my educational b/G IS MASTERS IN TEXTILES AND FASHION DESIGNING.
Oh my.. how could i miss it... :thinking My dear, "majority of seniors" are right ;) Sociology is indeed an unreliable subject now. Why opt it when you already have better options at your disposal... go for public ad: instead. that's a good subject ;)
... and tell some important topics for essay also.
Dear, After completing preparation of islamiat, current affairs and pakistan affairs, you wont be needing any list of important topics for English essay. Let me tell you; now, what you badly need for English Essay is, a list of "Constituents of a good Essay" and "how to write a good essay" ;) but if you again ask me most important essay topics, i would say Governance in Pakistan (good/Bad) Woman rights in Pakistan Place of Woman in Islam Role of UN in Resolution of International Disputes Witness protection bill, boon or ban? etc And guess what all these things you will cover jointly in islamiat, C.A and P.A ;) So, don't worry about it. just grab knowledge and focus on how to mold it into an impressive essay :)
Sir you missed my post about sociology
Yeah, i missed many things.. thanks to you that I got them all :) |

I want to learn diplomacy. |
Asalam O Alaikum SIR...
please please please share your whole JOURNEY of CSS from A to Z... :shy REGARDS
Hahahah.. quite a lengthy question, but as Jindhahwani has asked, i will surely answer :) Faisal Karim Qureshi, I live in Mari Petroleum Company Daharki, Distt: Ghotki, Sindh, as my father works here. basically i am from Sukkur. Since my childhood i have been lucky enough to live here (MPCL), in this paradise-like beauuutiful colony, no loadshedding, no water/gas etc issues. Awesome school/college and grrrreat teachers etc. It is mostly occupied by engineers, doctors and business nerds, so i was always motivated to become an engineer. I was good at studies so i got selected in MUET, Jamshoro and was allocated Telecommunication Engineering as i desired. My brother was 1 year senior to me there and was doing Computer System Engineering. With time i was losing interest in engineering, it was not my niche. however i continued with it and never failed. Then my friends told me about CSS, i started liking it, but i didn't pay much heed to it at that time. Then one night everything changed, in my final semester, one night I was going to my hostel after dinner with 3 of my friends when suddenly 2 mobile snatchers appeared. the man with pistol stood by me and the other guy(unarmed) went to my friends for snatching. I was not ready to hand him over my mobile which contained family pics etc. so i wore my brass knuckles (it was in my pocket, self defence measure) and hit that armed guy with severe blow on his face, he shot me unintentionally due to an unexpected jawbreaker punch, on my thigh. then they ran away empty handed. thanks God, the bullet did not touch my thighbone. then hospital.... my dad rebuked me.. mom loved me... neighbours praised me.. relatives.. mixed response etc.. but i was totally totally happy and satisfied. On that day i decided to do CSS and join police... then, after completing my engineering i asked Dad for further studies. My dad's only demand was to see my engineering degree, when i provided it to him, he did not even ask me to apply for job.. he gave me a blank check to do whatever i want. I also wanted to do MBA from LUMS, Lahore because i had an impression that CSS is a gamble and can't be relied upon. My father was ready for both the options. Having 2 equally lucrative options in my mind, i resorted to ISTKHAARA, I got my answer the first time i.e CSS. So i came to lahore for the first time, for CSS. I knew that unlike me, other aspirants are book worms and work harder than me (as i am an easygoing person), so it was impossible for me to beat them head to head by mere hard work. So i chalked out a plan that "i would beat them in MY home-ground (smart work)." Alhamduillah, I am good at handwriting, creativity and a bit spiritualism using science :) First of all, i considered that before starting anything, a Bismillah is mandatory. But as CSS is a big task, so my Bismillah should also be of grand size. I am not a "tableeghi Jamaat" person, but even then i set out with them for 3 days in Lahore, a good experience it was! after returning, i started my studies. i am allergic to newspapers so i never touched it. i joined an academy but covered everything all alone. i never grouped myself with any CSS aspirant, i am not a social type of person and i do not make many friends in my real life. i lived in Central Plaza, Barkat Market, and all my flat-mates were ACCA students. They are all awesome. Anyways, i studied, i watched movies, i hanged around with my flatmates. even on the last day before exams, i spent my whole day shopping for my new dresses for exams. ;) One more important thing i did before exams. i selected 'my pen'. after trying many renowned brands, my brain said yes to "COMPO." an awwwesome pen, made for me indeed! :) My exam center was Govt: science college, wahdat road. an awesome center. i loved that because it had peaceful environment, with big grounds to sit under tree-shades... perhaps i was the only person there to come, study and go back alone. at break times between two papers, i still remember that i used to sit under a tree, eat my fruitamins (canned fruits in syrup) and watch other candidates cramming things loudly... My age-old practice is that, i always call my mother before entering examination hall for special package of prayers ;) Time passed, and one day i got qualified, meanwhile, my craze towards police faded away. i reconsidered my priorities, and opted DMG at the top. but guess what, God punished my british history paper so badly that i got allocated in OMG :) That really proved to be a blessing in disguise, because earlier i didn't know about OMG, and now, after knowing it, i loooooove it more than DMG, as it suits my moderate personality :) Now my elder brother is alhamdulillah Software engineer in Sweden, and I am a CSP in Pakistan :) |
Thanks a lot sir, and sorry i am asking too many questions, most probably it will be last one :) please share constituents of a good essay as you mentioned in your post and tell me some good book of public ad. How many days will it take to complete this subject and whats the scoring trend of it? Did you opted public ad if yes then share your study strategy as well. And thanks once again :)
