I m not an expert on essay writing but i hav heard that there are 10 reservd marks for making outline in the begining of an essay.
And it is obvious that an outline is the instrument to the cheker to know what a candidate is going to put in throughout the essay.
However, an outline is a guidance to write in a choronological way as it has been mentioned above. So, donot get reluctence to go through for an outline. Rather it will help u to get high marks. Best of luck

Exclamation essay writing

well no doubt essay is the most imp paper in css.... and also the first one....
good start ends in happy ending.

according to my opinion ..... made outlines of essay in the first half an hour thorughly on the back side.... last page of answer sheet ,,,,,,,
there is no need to write outline in the begening of an essay.......

start ur essay if possible with a relevant qutation.....

then start writing the essay as u write ur journy to some place.... step be step..... there must be continuity in ur essay..... its very important.....
didvide it into paragraphs..... add all the relevant data and dont go out of track..... go on a rail road......

use easy english and good gramer......
bring connectivity in ur paragraphs and ideas u presenting....
insert quotations and all relevent data where needed....

i hope it will be easy and helpfull way.....

this is my method of essay writing......

i wrote in essays in differnt exam PCS css NAB and other deptmental exams and i passed those papers.......

islah...

Default About Essay

AoA, Islah u gave excellent hints for essay writing but u know my experience is somewhat different. I met a Professor in Islamabad who actually checks the essay paper. He told me that following things are bases while marking the essays:

1. OUTLINE
2. Content
3. Style
4. Organization
5. Grammar

He told me that one must give the outline the neat area instead of rough and style is very much important. For example, A sentence "It was June" can be written in style english as "June it was..." and so on. the style also includes quotes etc..
And the essay must be written in coherent manner. this goes for organization. that is to say that translate each point of urs in ur outline into a full paragraph.
If someone still feels ambiguity, plz do tell me i ll be more than pleased

Post One More Imprtent Point

Some Candidates Intrdouce Sub-headings While Making Outlines And They Get Through Easily In Paper.so Here I Request The Company Of Islah G,mumtaz Hayat Maneka ,raz And Other Member To Share Their Reservations Over Introdoucing Of Sub-headings Undera Major Heading.for Example
For The Eassy Can We Prevent World War-3,if One Introdouces The Heading Of Historical Background Of First World War;under This Outline Can One Use The Sub-heading Of :
Why First World War Happen
Consequences
Causes
Does It Has An Impact On World War-2
Conclusion
Is This The Best Way To Introduce Sub-headings Or Just Take Care Of The One Major Single Ouline, and No Need To Write Sub-headinds Of That Outline

In my opinion, the use of sub-headings in outline can yield good result only if the organisation and structure of your outline demands that i.e. if you have to introduce new ideas and/or different topics then subheadings can help you in organizing certain facts and points pertaining to each of the idea separately. It will help the examiner to comprehend easily what you are going to present in your essay.

thanks islah g,a goof and arif rao for their precious comments.but i still feel at the precarious brink over using sub-headings or not.i have been trying to write an esaay on "can v prevent world war3"since a week ago,but even yet cann't construct my outlines .in my childish opinion,i have following outlines:
1-what is war
2-historical background of first world war
a-causes
b-consequences
c-did it lead to world war 2
3-historical background of second world war
a-causes
b-cnsequences
c-will it result in world war3
4-circumstances leading to world war3
a-financial crises
b-ecnomic crises
c-monoply of capitalism
d-western infuence over saudi oil
e-war on terror
5-prophecies of world war3
6-can v prevent it
7-conclusion
