I think the best way to make use of the time would be to stay in touch with current affairs and to study your optional subjects.
Because in case you pass, knowledge of current affairs and optional subjects come handy in the interview and in case you don't make it-I hope that doesn't happen- next attempt ki hi tyari hojaye gee.. Best of Luck

Although my question is not related to the thread because I didn't find any contact info in your profile.Islamic History and Arabic is also my optional but I am little bit worried about omitting the choice of Urdu and no benefit of poetry in Arabic. My questions are: How was your Arabic paper and it's still scoring one for upcoming exams? Is combination of Arabic and IH&C scoring and beneficiary in other subjects? I am Hafiz and have basic of Arabic grammar how much time required to complete the syllabus of both subjects. Last one suggest me some quality books in presence of latest trend in these subject. Thanks in anticipation

My paper went satisfactory alhmdulillah, expecting to pass it inshaAllah.mcqs were tough.yes! Poetry section is of NO avail now.they ask to translate either in english or Arabic.i would suggest you to opt Arabic only if you have quite a good understanding of Arabic. You can see the past paper:questions asked were EASY and PREDICTABLE!! Only poetry section grilled us.as far as scoring trend is concerned, only result this year can tell us.Arabic has been a scoring subject.words of advice: Prepare yourself according to the syllabus-fully and don't leave anything then you can solve Arabic paper inshaAllah! I would suggest go for Arabic keeping in view the trend of questions.prepare intelligently:by analysing past paper queations.
Books for Arabic are not as such available.you can get notes and improve them slightly by google. Combination part: Arabic can be of little help in Islamic history esp.when it comes to contribution of Muslims in literature of Abbasid era and both can give somehow little support to each other.buT NOT very much.Islamic history can help you in Islamiat only and that too in current affairs question.anyhow,Islamic history and culture is a good subject to opt.but it needs excessive revision so that you don't forget it. Time for completion: for any subject 1 whole dedicated month is enough.for Islamic History 1.5-2 months are sufficient:get notes, purchase relevant books, amend notes, learn questions(relevant only) side-by-side..! Arabic can take 1.5months in toto: get good notes, improve them if necessary. Quality books: old books are good.for Islamic history i studied Short History of Islam(green color book) for Spanish History : Muslims in Spain For Turkish i did not buy any book, prepared it poorly with notes.but you should get a book.visit Ilmi Book House in Urdu Bazar they have better knowledge about books.keep syllabus and past questions in your mind and then select books. One thing more: sorry i remained ambiguous.Go for Arabic even if you cannot write or understand it (fully).just focus on The news trend of paper:skip poetry altogether and prepare other important questions.i know such thing leaves one with NO CHOICE in paper but i think being a language paper it can fetch you handsome marks.however,if you feel OK with URDU then go-ahead with it.in Arabic you have to write an essay in Arabic and attempting short questions in Arbic.if you can cram these then well-and-good if NOT then go for Urdu.
