Well military attachment purpose is to know the basics of military and how it is working so that in future, if we have to coordinate with army then we should know how to manage it all. initially it was for three months but now it has been curtailed to two weeks only. We are sent to different units across the Pakistan, some are even sent to operational units in hostile areas, where we spend days and nights with soldiers. we are given Captain rank and called as CGOs or Civil Gazetted officers in army. this army attachment is not rigorous, but it depends upon how much you want to learn. they treat us like guests and dont force anything on us.

sadly no apparently some male chauvinist designed this policy! guys get to learn about army, its organizational structure, weapons etc but the info (& exposure) is deemed unworthy of female officers (or prolly the other way round)..which doesnt make sense at all!
#1 if females are considered fit for all the groups (PSP, DMG/PAS etc) then its only fair they receive Exactly the same training imparted to their male counterparts

#2 Army itself is no longer the sole domain of XY chromosome. so whats the issue?

female probationers get to visit PAF bases..

The policy to attach only male officers to military divisions was designed keeping in view the concerns of family members of female probationary officers. Females do not get to live in the army environment, however they visit army divsions ,corps and/or units within and near Lahore. They also get the opportunity to play with guns aka firing. They are given proper briefings followed by sumptuous tea-breaks. And yes they are more privileged in the sense that they get free mostly at around 1 p.m. Secondly, they also get to visit PAF bases, hence, better acquaintance with the functions of Armed forces. Moreover, they never travel without academy transport during official activities unlike males who on their return from military attachment are at their own.

So my brother, women are better managed and facilitated than their male counterparts.

Regards.

Thats not something sad for me. i enjoy an enviornment of female staff/collegues. since most of the time the enviornment is a mixxed one, I prefer lesser activities. The activities posted in here just made me think once again "should I become an aspirant of 2013", as they did not suit my mode.
